(not whinging myself) i was merely agreeing with the initial poster who said that all is not lost ....its not about a few injuries stopping us from being the best team in the world (i dont think he said that , did he now?!) ...his point is that there are a lot of fans on here who high five each other for being cynical and negative about how the club is going. simples. there is however, a correlation between injuries and team selection , no? and that can sometimes affect results? no?

Exactly and we should have had adequate cover in certain areas to prevent falling into a crisis. Some of The performances last season were digusting and match goers don't deserve to be subjected to *** while they have to pay through their noses. They have a right to voice their views when the club isn't meeting expectations and trying to pull the wool over the fans eyes and pretend the football and squad is good enough when we know that isn't the case. Look at things realistically and objectively rather than looking at it with your man utd t-shirt with the united mug in your hand and united bed sheets.

i agree with a lot of your points................ Firstly i think that , as with any online forum, you are liable to get all sorts of "temporary fans" . its one thing voicing disapproval when things go wrong, but i think quite a few come on here and have very little to say apart from trying to belittle our club. I think you have hit the nail on the head by mentioning a player who has really helped us in recent years...darren fletcher. under-rated and never go tthe plaudits really. my thoughts are with him as he continues his recovery. anyway i do agree that there is a lot to be positive about (yes really...positive!) i agree that we have almost too many options now in midflield and on the flanks....our fully fit squad + vidic +a stable back four will mean we will surely challenge yet again... when we buy baines (i believe we will) we will have an almost complete team.... i do think fletch will be missed and that he remains the only major gap in our squad. no pint in panicking and shelling out 30m+ on a holding midfielder...sir alex knows that. with a fully fit squad (and lets face it i have never seen a more injury-hit squad as united last season) we will be OK.anyone remember playing carrick at centre back? valencia at right back? having NO nani , young cleverly jones rooney anderson fletcher for the cup - tie at anfield? Believe in Sir Alex's recruitment policies and show respect to players who have put on the United Shirt at least once in their lifetime. I cannot believe I am seeing such obnoxious comments in the forum over the last few months after we have lost the Premier League crown in the final seconds of the season. I have been in the forums for the last 4 years and I hardly write comments as I mostly read the discussions. But I think some of you guys have let football get the better of you in every possible wrong way. Imagine City without Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure to muster 89 points come the end of the season. We did that without Vidic and Fletcher. If anything, I would want to see a player of Darren's caliber in our midfield. He has been badly missed. I am seeing names thrown all over the place, and most of them are attacking midfield players. But we already have signed Kagawa, a wonderful signing and a bargain if you asked me and I don't really see any other player needed right now particularly when we have Young, Valencia and Nani in our flanks. The midfield will thrive in the coming days once Anderson, Cleverley, and new signing Powell get more match time. Look at our striking talents in Chicharito and Welbeck. In the defense we have Smalling, Evans, Rafael and Jones. In front of our goal, we have three amazing goalies. And we have many young players coming from our youth system, like the Keane brothers, Lingard, Cole, Tunnicliffe, Petrucci and many many more. If anything, we most definitely are in need of a left back to cover for Evra who has been amazing for us for years now. And the only other position we could look into is a holding midfield player like Yaya in City. But if we don't get one in this season, we might be needing one in the next for sure. If I want to say anything, we cannot keep on relying on Scholes and Giggs. Ironically, I don't see any replacement for those two. All I want to say in the end is trust Sir Alex's decision. Pep Gaurdiola said Manchester United is the "Benchmark" of Success in Club Football. He wouldn't say such a thing just to show modesty to a continental rival. Find me another club that maintained the level of football like United have maintained in the last two decades. 659 million fans and counting. It's good to be passionate and serious at the same time for something you love. But at the end of the day, how much more stupid can you get for something you love?
