Re: Fergie confirms van Persie bid

Last year people were saying that we shouldnt sign Sneijder because he was 28 and we would only get 3-4 good years from him, Van Persie will turn 29 this august, I would think that the same logic should apply here. And with Van Persies injury history this is a real gamble.

We should be trying to get Yakubu, scored loads of goals last season and would be much cheaper than RVP

The reason were after him is that wellbeck is not a good enough striker, Hernandez is not a good enough footballer! Berbatov is a lazy bast..d! Van pets &rooney would be a lethal combi ation or either can play as a lone striker possibly in Europe! Would take d pressure of Rooney that we place on him to do everything!

You Sir... live in a dream world.... Kagawa £17million, Modric £35 million, Moura £30-35 (50 according to the Daily Mail) million, Baines £15 million and Van Persie £25-30 million. £122-132 million spent on players in a single window..... We'll be lucky to have that kind of money in 3 transfer windows, we simply don't have that kind of money for tranfers, even IF we did Sir Alex won't ever spend that much.

As I stated in another thread, I'm not eager about the prospect, despite how good Van Persie is. I get the feeling the manager put the bid in to light a fire under Welbeck's people, to show them that if he faffs about signing a new deal, we can just sell him and get someone else in. Rooney and Hernandez are safe, probably Macheda too (which is understandable given his age), but Welbeck imho is saleable right now if he's not going to sign a new contract.
We won't sell Welbeck, Berba will be on his way, I have a feeling Macheda could possibly be as well. Hernandez isn't looking much more than an impact player at present,

Anyway its SAF's problem where to fit them all in.

You've got to kidding, not only Chicha, but Kiko's position is safer than Welbeck's?

You could have a point.....but if Berbatov moves on then I see RVP as being the man!

    signing van persie

I think it would be good if we could get van persie for the right price.maybe 20 million because i still think he has got a lot to offer.Because with the service he could get old trafford would be awsome.what a dream partnership especially playing in the formation of 442.still waiting to hear about moura would be good if we could get him to.We made two great signing already with shinji kagawa and nick powell.cant wait for the new season to start now. glory glory man united.

Just for kicks, what do we think RVP will go for? Nasri went for 8million.
I reckon 15 tops, arsenal may act like the ball is in their court but clearly it isn't, should be an interesting few days.
8m? What are you talking about mate.
My bad, i just looked it up and he went for 20+ million. I dont know how I went all this time thinking Nasri went to city for that cheap. 8 million must have been what we bid? Maybe? Otherwise I have no idea how I came up with that number.
He went for like 24m, we bid around 22m or similar but City trumped our wages. RVP is in a similar situation on the last year of his contract but given his age I think 20m maybe even 25m if they are lucky.
I think Clichy went for 8m. Maybe thats where I got it. But yeah I have been reading reports that say they will not accept less than 25m for him, but I think they might have to.
Yeah Clichy went for around that, probably right mate, Arsenal will have to accept what they are offered or they'll have to lose him on a free. City will be daft enough to offer 20m+ for him though.

I reckon he'd go for between 15 and 17.5 realistically. I also think that despite his age and injury history he would make the club more money than that in shirt sales etc etc

If we sign him does that mean we are stuck with a 4 4 2 again?
