Re: For anybody who wanted Nuri Sahin......

I would like to see Sahin here but didnt he say that he wanted to stay at Real Madrid. But surely if we went in for him he would surely be tempted to a move to us.Its been said that we are interested in him although like everything else its all just rumours.A very talented young player though i would welcome him here.

Yeah mate. I said it earlier that Wenger has the money but he doesn't want to spend. He believes in youth policy.

Btw hasn't Kroenke got to the stage where if he buys 0.1% more he'll have to buy all the other shares?
I also heard that but I'm not sure.
Strange because apart from Miyaichi and Wilshere I can't see an other really promising young players, their problem I guess...
they have got a great youth system,as for current players theres no one really breakin through but that wont last forever..
Well it's never a cert that a brilliant young prospect will be in their academy in the next few years. A lot of it involves pot luck, meaning they could find several prospects, or none. Never a guarantee but you'd back them to find someone in the next few years.

What do players see in Arsenal? Is it the whole London thing? Because it aint the players at the club, all the top ones have departed and why? Because they can't get near a trophy and haven't for many years. They are way down the pecking order in English football nowadays with a manager more stubborn than our own! For some reason foreign players always speak highly of them....puzzles me tbh. :-S
u could say ,there way of play, but that has even fizzled out now.there no real force anymore and like i said there football was STYLE now there out fashioned,by a long shot these days,i do like the waythey keep there youth system though nice to see..

Can someone please explain to me what kind of player Sahin is please? Is he box to box, deep-lying playmaker, etc. Also what are his main atrributes?

    Thanks in advance.

He can play both the roles. But he's better as a deep-lying playmaker.
Thanks mate. So if we were to get him, which may seem unlikely now, wouldn't he play in the same role as Carrick?
Nah mate. He plays a more attacking role. Carrick plays a more defensive role. You can say Sahin is an attacking center midfielder. He can score 12 plus each season from the center.

Re: For anybody who wanted Nuri Sahin......

It would make sense for Sahin to want to come to United. He has a history with Kagawa, so the have an understanding in midfield. SAF would surely recognize this and desire the player. Wenger has said that Sahin is not going to Arsenal, so that leaves United and Spurs. It is well known that United had problems in their midfield last season, so Sahin would think he will be getting lots of playing time with us. Champions League football is also an added perk over Spurs. Plus, need I say it: why would someone want to play for Spurs if they can play for United? As for whether SAF would want Sahin on loan - that's covered in another thread.

Yes they've been unsuccessful in terms of silverware but they're nonetheless a big club and boast the second best manager to have ever managed in the epl. If they offered me a contract I'm pretty sure I'd accept. Besides they have crooked owners, what they need is Alisher Usmanov to buy them out as he's got money to burn, rather than Stan Kroenke. I bet when some of their young talents such as Wilshere and Miyaichi peak they'll be a force once again.
Mate , before Stan Kroenke bought Arsenal , Alisher Usmanov was the majority shareholder. But still he didn't spend. The truth is , Wenger has the money to spend but he doesn't. Stan kroenke is also quite rich.
Majority shareholder not full shareholder which bears more influence, he's got substantially more money than Kroenke if I'm not mistaken. The likelihood is it's Wenger that's the reason they don't spend so much. Oh well I prefer their approach to mindless oil tycoons who buy tripe for millions.
Usmanov owned around 65% shares of Arsenal before some of it was bought by Kroenke. He could have spent heavily if he wanted. 65% shares means a lot. Not on papers but you're considered as close to a full time owner if you own that much.

Yes but if you own a club along with other people you're not going to be plowing a load of your own cash in so the other can reap the profits are you? It's a different matter entirely when somebody owns the club outright.. Back in our PLC days for example would John Magnier have pumped lots of his own money into the club? It doesnt work like that
