Re: New striker priority if welbeck leaves

I'm an optimist by the way! When I think of Welbecks age and along with Jones, Smalling, and Rafael, I know they at 23 / 24 will be stunning players. Its the experience they are gaining so early with the strength they already have. Think Norman Whiteside (my hero). 17 years old and so powerful and gifted. Rooney was the same. I also believe Powell has a great chance because he is so mature for his age, miles ahead of any 18 year old we have. These are kids taking on the men.(Whiteside, Hughes, Moran, Mcgrath progressing to Giggs, Neville, Beckham, Butt, Scholes).

Have great hopes for Welbeck, but I think we need to improve our attack options. Rooney gets injured, then we are left with Welbeck who I trust. But Hernandez and Macheda I'm afraid just do not have the technique and class to worry the very best teams in Europe. Because it is those teams we should be aiming to compete with. Barca, Madrid, Bayern, and now Chelsea and City all have world class attack options. For me Van Persie would raise our level, and as Welbeck matures playing with him and Rooney and Kagawa, again our level rises with him.
How do you know Van Persie would be successful with United? Macheda, I kind of agree with that he does not have the technique and class, but Hernandez nah, Hernandez will get better this coming season. Plus, I don't think we are going to get Van Persie.
Why wouldn't Van Persie succeed with us?
    Because he is injury prone.
Ah, it could be a risk that is worth taking though.
There was talk not long ago about Arsenals injury record linked to their training programs. Maybe thats why theyare all "very delicate" - look how they have dealt with Wilshire - what a waste. The truth is you just don't know with injury. Van persie would succeed here because has has class. That instinct, that touch that makes a difference, that vision of what can happen next before it happens. Lets get him. Like I have said before, I want the squad that will take Barca apart in a champs league final. A squad that will put the very top teams on the back foot.
What makes you think that won't happen with the squad we have now?
Evra. Anderson. Young. Berbatov. Macheda. Hernandez. Bebe. Ageing midfield. Nani's decision making. Rooney's fading world beater ability.....
    I see your point
