    Manchester1989Utd:
Young is a sub standard player imo! non existant in the Euro's just like Cleverley in Olympic side. I'm sorry but no way is Tom Cleverley the future of this club, he's a remould of Darron Gibson, average! For that reason I'm pretty glad we signed Powell, just like I'll be really glad if we sign Lucas. I'm not saying either are surplus players at OT but they aren't really the faces I'd expect to see on a first team sheet against City or Chelsea or against one of the big guns in the CL next season, I'm sure they will have their parts to play next season but I don't personally feel they should be considered a major part of the push for silverware next season

It's hard to critise your own players, but I think your right about Cleverly. If he was, say, Algerian, people would not rate him. But because he's a local kid, the fans are more likely to praise him over others.

Cleverly and Young are good enough for the SQUAD

So you want to sell young after 1 season?

No, but he needs someone pushing him to a higher level. Another player in his position provides internal competition.

No one will be fearing him atm

    Pre-season annoyances

United are looking lazy in their performances so far. They hardly created anything yesterday. City won their second match in about two or three days. I know pre-season RESULTS aren't important, but the individual performances ARE and our guys have, for the most part, looked a bit ineffective. So:

    1. we REALLY NEED Lucas, because Young has looked sub-standard and the thought of him having no competition on the left is probably great news for rival defences

    2. Rooney needs to get onto the treadmill unless he wants to suffer constant 'fat' jokes from rival fans; he's looking beefy. Even Ando looks more trim than him. Rooney's pace has gone and now he's getting big! No wonder we have all these RVP rumours...
