if rooney has a bad season we wont win the title..we are pinning all our hopes on one player each season.
That's funny, I could swear I remember winning the title a few years ago after Rooney had the worst season of his career.
In fairness it was a two horse race then.

Lack of action on spine in the middle and no attempt to get one. All the talk about replacing Scholes and no talk of replacing Roy Keane. We do not need a flair player in the middle. We need someone who can stop opposition raids through the middle. We need someone who will reduce the many shots on goal we are conceding. Go back last eight games of the season. If we stopped Everton run at us, we would have won the league. Stop talking Lucas. Talk Tiote!

People slating Cleverly obviously don't have a clue about football. Its not about scoring a screamer from 30 yards then not doing anything for the rest of the match (*cough* Gerrard *cough*), or play a few crossfield passes over 70 yards that make a good footballer. In the modern game its about keeping possession and making space. If ye watched great midfielders like Iniesta and Xavi, 95% of their passes are very ordinary. Pass, then move. Cleverly is in the exact same mould as these lads. He makes so many good runs, gets in great positions, puts in a massive effort in pressing. I don't know whats wrong with ye idiots. This is the modern CM. This is what we're lacking and ye're saying he's average. Capello and Ferguson see amazing potential in him, two of the most decorated managers for a long time.
Ive been watching xavi and iniesta since 99 and to say 95% of their passes is ordinary shows that you are the one that doesnt understand football. They are not the modern midfielder they represent a specific playing style which has been programmed into their systems by la masia barcelonas academy. To say cleverly is in the exact same mould is just embarrassing. And the modern game isnt specificly about keeping the possession and making space that is a playing style which many of great teams of the 20th century utilised.

Young is a sub standard player imo! non existant in the Euro's just like Cleverley in Olympic side. I'm sorry but no way is Tom Cleverley the future of this club, he's a remould of Darron Gibson, average! For that reason I'm pretty glad we signed Powell, just like I'll be really glad if we sign Lucas.
Haha love how Cleverley is non existent in the Olympics, then mention Lucas..
This. Stretford just took the words out of my mouth.

    Lack of Berbatov.
I really don't understand the situation with DB9, he is in the squad but he does not play, he got one game, he made an assist for the only goal, he won MOTM and he's been benched since then. If he is about to leave, why is he then part of the squad (instead of a youngster for example). On the other hand, if he is taken in the squad why is he not getting any game time even when we need goals and lads like Chicharito can't score in 4 friendly games. This is what's annoying me, leave him in Manchester until he is transferred or let him play and see how he does when he travels all these 30000+ miles.

I'll think we can now all agree that

    1. the team is playing a bit rubbish

    2. Clev is a good (if not slightly boring type of) player

I feel your pain mate, I was expecting a flourish of goals this preseason but I am seeing nothing, for the first half, I understand that we basically went with our reserves and a few first team players, but for this part, nil nil draw is unacceptable, but in all fairness, the lads just came back, so lets be patient. We will see how they will do against barca.
