skengman:I came on this forum to speak about United.
Anyway, Ronaldo is more of a skilled individual and can destroy a team single handedly and has proven himself in the Portugese, English & Spanish League.
Messi on the other hand is too afraid to step out of his comfort zone (La Liga, Barcelona) and he is reliant on his worldclass teamates to link up with, play one twos and so called tiki taka to break teams down. I reckon Messi couldn't handle the Premier League coz it's much too physical for him. Imagine The giant Stoke City defenders bullying Messi pushing him around for 90 mins. Champions final its stalemate 0-0 and 20 seconds left on the clock who would you want breaking through the defence 1 on 1 with the keeper? My bet is Ronaldo.
Have you ever seen El Classico? Barcelona v Madrid? If you haven't then i suggest you do. They play the 23rd and 29th of this month in our equivalent of the community shield. Madrid try and kick lumps out of Messi but he just gets up and dusts himself off. In Spain Ronaldo is accused of disappearing in big games, bit like when he played for us. He was even booed by his own supporters last season.Messi always shows up.
La Liga is just as physical as the premier league, if not more so. The top teams are so technical that the only way for the other teams try to stop them is by taking out players, Messi the number one target.
As for Messi afraid to try other leagues that's not at all accurate. He suffered from growth hormone disorder and when he was 11, Barca offered to pay for all his treatment, they wanted him so much he signed his first contract on a paper napkin. Messi is repaying his faith in the club and that is why he will never leave them. This is called loyalty not fear.
My bet, Messi, but this is just my opinion.
