Re: SAF'S done his buying, hasnt he?

I think we will add another couple of players before the window shuts. Its clear that we want Van Persie and we are doing all we can to sign him Arsenal are playing hardball but im still hopeful we can get a deal done before the new season starts.I can also see another LB here aswell.I think we also need another midfielder but with Powell Petrucci Tunnicliffe Lingard etc all looking promising maybe SAF is thinking of giving these players chances and see how they do before we sign another CM.
Although I agree with giving these young players their chance......I really feel we need an Experienced Enforcer in Midfield this season.......Think this is where we need that Leader.....We have Vidic at the Back and Rooney up front who are leaders...Midfield is where we need another one to control games...IMO

If our move for RVP falls through we will either see SAF throw in the towel and just work with what he has or make a few last ditch bids to prove a point.

A late bid for Modric just as the window closes isn't out of the question or hijacking Kaka from Liverpool. We don't need an out of form and injury prone Kaka but he is a player that would look good in a Utd shirt and SAF would love to work with him.

ideally thats always SAF"s plan,i"m sure though that he"d be happy to sign rvp after the season starts,if only to stick 2 fingers up to city, the media dont help transfer situations at all, apart from the lies they print, they only succeed in pouring fat on the fire, all sells papers tho, doesnt it?..
Exactly my thoughts!! We've done our buying and as such we have to wait to see how Kagawa and Powell feature with the squad...Having said all that, we did push City to the last game last season with a squad that was ravaged with injury so on that basis, SAF has to have some trust in the players he has and the one's that have been in United for only the last two or so years playing at the top level. Let's hope we win back PL or at least a trophy more than Community Shield!!!! Hahahahahaha***

The United way is normally buy players early then embed them into the squad so why are we still being linked to new players coming in when PL season begins again next week????? Is it all hot air media?
I think our buying is over, RVP is just a show to sell more stocks. Arsenals captain will not join us I am 100% sure. If he would leave Arsenal he will leave the PL.
Exactly my thoughts...make it seem llike United is still interested in someone credible will help investors decide whether United is still an ambitious club, looking for continued success, so that they can make a mint out of us. I think it's more that we just haven't been able to land our targets. I think we'll get either Baines or RVP on deadline day, but that'll be about it. Why we haven't gone out and signed the midfielder we desperately need is beyond me. You'd have thought the club would have identified several targets and put the foundations of a move in place months ago, which makes me think SAF doesn't feel the need to strengthen in that area.

Re: SAF'S done his buying, hasnt he?

i really dont know ... i have several opinions and i cant make my mind up.... part of me says united are just looking to be in the xfer market to appease the fans and raise the price of shares without really putting in a sensible offer cos they know they're going to b outbid by city and chelsea. Another part of me says united have to b sensible (by united i mean saf) because of the debt the glazers have put on the club we have to be carefull not to punch above our weight financially until we ride out the (debt) storm. Part of me also says city are the champions and chelski r the european champs so top players will want to go to them naturally because they are the (current!) winners and they're gonna offer more money so can u blame the players and another part of me just calls them greedy baxxards !! I still cling to the hope we buy someone .... im constantly looking in the media for something positive.

Things have gone awfully quiet for us. Barely any new news articles, our Sky Sports page barely updates. Silence before the storm?
Or more likely, Silence before nothing lol. The management of this club is becoming a joke cough glazers cough.

Sell up wan*ers, you are clearly affecting our ability to compete

Things have changed mate, any club we negotiate with is just gonna drag things out and hope to get some interest from 1 of the high rollers.
You'll find it's us who drag it out by not meeting the valuation until some other club comes along and does. I said way back as soon as we where linked with lucas that we wouldn't sign him and some other club will come in and wrap it up in a matter of days compared to us taking weeks and that's what happened. We are not signing anyone, the rvp will drag along and then SAF will cry about his agent being greedy and mean!"
I would hardly call what happened in the Lucas deal as United losing out. Forty-five million plus agents fees for a 19 year old with potential is rediculous and he couldn´t crack the starting 11 on the national team.

What takes time is negotiating and is a part of any successful, sustainable business. United didn´t lose Lucas they lost interest in Lucas when they realized he was only interested in the money.

As I understand it we met the valuation for hazard and he chose Chelsea. We had a deal for Lucas until PSG made the late offer which as I said earlier I think is over the top.

I don´t think anyone is to blame that is what business is all about competing. All we can do is watch and wait maybe United aren´t finished yet?

Yeh that is one of the things people need to understand, Its hard for a club run as a business especially in crippling debt versing a club with virtually unlimited money in the football world. They can ALWAYS offer 10 mil more than our best and if these players just want the money they will go there

Without the money bag clubs in years gone by, we would offer money and prestige but now others can offer more money obviously.
