This gonna be a long post from me: Firstly, playing Kagawa as a central midfielder in a 4-4-2 is way to nullify his ability. It only burns his energy for nothing. He is not physically strong as a ball winner. He seems not good at tackling. His passing and vision are great, but he is not really a midfield general to drop too deep. Before Anderson came on, Cleverley worked twice as hard as a ball winner, which he is not best of (he is better in passing and position). ==> don't waste Kagawa's ability in 4-4-2. If we still feel short in that central midfield position, go grab one!
Secondly, Ando- Tom combo is really awesome. There is around 15 minutes left when Anderson came on, but as the game proceeded,we can see how great the chemistry between the two. Perhaps, we should invest more into our medical staff and physician to find a way to keep both of them fit for the whole campaign. They will really boost our midfield!
Thirdly, Hope our central back will recover quick or we really have to grab Van Persie or other on-form goal machine since Vidic isn;t 100% back to his fitness, Carrick shows his lack of strength as CB. We are risking conceding more goal. Therefore, to make up we need many more goals up front, which our forwards haven;t got their sharpness back.
It was a highly entertaining match. Our last 15 minutes midfield up to forward seems likely include in the starting XI for the coming season. Nani (left wing, not quite great but IMO doing better than Ashley Young who is really off form, contribute nothing at the moment), Anderson, Cleverley, Valcencia( back to right wing when Rafael fill the RB role), Kagawa behind Rooney.
