    United were apparantly willing to pay £26 million for him, however because he only wants Madrid, we got told to not bother....

    Hence the price is low as Spurs need to get rid and Madrid is the only team Modric wants to go to.

    This. However there are also substantial add ons to that fee too, it'd be around £33 million in total. Not the box to box midfielder capable of tackling we need, and certainly not a left back, so no big deal whatsoever.

    Thats a good price. I think it would have been higher for us tho. £33-35m I suspect.

    Great shame we couldn't have done that, would have been much happier if that was the case rather than as it's looking like a similar amount for RvP.

    Excellent that spuds only get £23 million. They didnt want to sell to us so the lower he fee the better it is. How they must regret not selling him last year for £40 million to chelsea.

    Let him be, I don't think we are missing something great here. To me, he is overrated, way too expensive and let's not forget at 28 he's not really a great prospect...
