I think Wootton has been great at the pre-season . It has even been a bit of surprise for me how well he had played at that age . Strong , Agresive , Reliable. He is worth of playing in the main team.

Unlucky is unlucky. Even if we seem to have too much of our share of it. Rio got injured in training for God's sake and the whole world is crying wolf. Carrick can more than deputise for him. Training injuries can only be chucked up to bad luck. Rio has back problems not groin problems, so a groin injury not a reoccurence of his back injury is good news, even if its disheartening. We will more than manage, we will do well and when Rio, Smalling, Jones and Evans get back, we will do better still.

We hv injury-prone Central defenders, period! Wat we need to do is focus on the defence next summer. Loan out a few. Won't say which ones.

    Cheers for that!

The situation is bizarre mind you. (See what I did there Wink). This has been going long enough for us to seriously consider taking a look at our training methods and staff. I don't think I have the heart to go through another injury ravaged season. Hopefully, we'll have Evans back for the game against Fulham with Rio and Jones making returns earlier than expected. Would hate to see our best midfielder played in the defense regularly.

My greatest challenge is not whats happening at the moment my greatest challenge was knocking Liverpool right off their *** perch

The only thing that worries me is the timing of Rio's injury, we find out on Friday I think it is who is in our group for the CL and I have a feeling we're going to have a heavyweight in there somewhere... With that, it means we're relying on Vidic to come back from a really bad injury at 30 and stay fit, which, I'm not so sure about... Also, Carrick playing CB for at least 1 CL group game, we have to be careful really, I think Carrick is the best option we have for CB but his talent is wasted there if you ask me, he hasn't really been tested against good opponents, one saving grace is, we don't play a top 5 team until the 29th September so our first teamers should all be back by then Evans being the most likely first.

I think we'll be absolutely fine and it's kind of good in a way Carrick has been pushed back as it will give Cleverley one of the first choices for CM pairing with Scholes!

I mean really last season we had a number of defenders out due to injury, people said it was just unlucky, this season before we have even got started again the same problem, there really has to be more to it then just being unlucky, looking back over the reports etc last season we had 39 injurys.

Yes i repeat 39 injury,i mean that is truly shocking, what is even more shocking is the fact that due to those injurys we had lost 1,681 days.combined from players who were injured are current injury list looks like this:-

Chris Smalling( Metatarsal Fracture) not expected back until around 7th Oct 12.

Jonny Evans(Ankle/Foot Injury) not expected back until around 25th Aug 12

Darren Fletcher(Bowel Condition) no return date recently played a full 90 mins, and back in training.

Rio Rio Ferdinand(Groin Injury?) 4+ Week layoff

And what makes it even more depressing is that again the players who are injured are our defenders,i mean really what gives? last season unlucky yes,but again this season? majority of are defenders injured again? no way this has anything to do with being unlucky,i am not pointing fingers but it is frustrating that this has occurred now in 2 seasons.

The fact that we now may have to play Carrick as a defender makes me want to crawl into a dark corner of the room roll up into a fetal position rock back and four saying the hail mary's.

Granted we have youngsters we could promote, but do you think they are ready, and do you think Sir Alex thinks they are ready(guess we will find out tonight).

(sorry if there are about 100000 posts about the same thing but i had to let it out,its like group therapy)

There is no sympathy in here so don't expect it.

Carrick will do just fine. He is a class act, reads the game like the best and can distrbute from the back with his fantastic passing ability.
