Can see Everton in top 4 especially with Mirallas signing anyway our team is fit to play a 4-2-3-1 however Rooney needs to improve otherwise he can say hello to the bench Kagawa is looking far superior.
rubbish. if chelsea city or spurs were playing them they would have won tonight cause their players know how to take a shot when the opportunity arises instead of passing sideways.
Ronaldo too far out for him to think about it AAOH ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL

There's no room for trying out a new formation in the opening game of the season.

Fergie needs 2 figure out what the hell he wants from United,a midfield of midgets who technical ability but not strength or a midfield of your typical lower table clubs which use more physical players,or a mixture of both.

I really do not think United will win much this season, this match & in pre season they looked exactly like they did last season,no urgency just nothing there, for all the "quality" players we have the teams with lesser amount of funds made United look like a championship side if that.

mmm i can taste the tears

Obviously not happy with the final score, but I have the feeling Goodison Park is gonna be hell for most teams. And I feel confident we'll bounce back at OT. RVP will also be more adapted to the team by then.

More of the same from last season, slow predictable, Nani rubbish, Evra not much better, we have made no progress, other teams have, I have been saying for 3 seasons that we are on the slide and we might have to live with it, so be it, but to see a team that is clueless and a manager who is past his sell by date is sad to see and before all the naysayers rant about glory hunting etc, I just want to see the team compete and at least show some cohesion....I'll leave you with this thought, what if Rooney is on the slide? think of his last 2 England games and his performance tonight......I just think he is struggling with fitness, sharpness and probably his weight in all the wrong places?

What match did you watch? I admit that was a poor shot from Cleverley, but then the boy did well along Scholes and Kagawa in keeping us the possession.

I didnt at all like how we played today, as last year lacked creativity and passion. really felt sad seeing each pass...i cant see us winning ..city fires venom and comes back time and time again from any deficit to win.. cant see that winning mentality and confidence in us ...A very poor start hope they prove me wrong...

Carrick in midfield would have made the difference!
Definitely. Clevs was all over the place tonight. Plus we could've used Valencia's crosses from the right.

no directness. EMBARASSING. we get the ball do some FANTASTIC PASSING..........to just waste it with no confidence. we need players that are going to RUN at defenders and fuckin SHOOT. anderson cleverley and kagawa were great. scholes tried. nani valencia young.........awful. rooney awful. why wasnt vidic marking felliani for corner. i said it before it was took and looked what happened.

We were very poor today. Our player look lost on the pitch. What formation are we playing at start ? The decison to play Valencia at right back was poor, last season we tried it and It did not work. Only De Gae and Scholes played well, Kawaga looks good but no one is playing the ball to him enough, The play was static throughout like it was a pre-season game.

    In Conclusion:
] nothing to do with formations.. down to the players...some are jsut too slow.. you forget we have been playing 442 and look what that brought us? most of our goals came at the start...Scholes and co are just too too slow...
Wouldnt say its about the players completely, we have a great set of players, obviously they havent been played to their strengths.

Rooney, Welbeck and Van Persie all had limited effect due to our formation.

Our formation led to use having little width which then caused all our play to mainly happen through the middle. The middle was congested and there wasnt much room for movement or for any clear cut chances to be made.

I would put this loss down to our tactics and formation.

This is what happens if you keep ignoring strengthening the area you really should.

We need to play a 4-2-3-1 with the right players!

    Bring in Dembele and play:

it was the same story in preseason
Which to me shows we are struggling to create and score trying out a new formation.
