Re: People need to get off Wilfried Zaha's back

The only word people need to learn is "Patience".

Because he isn't going to be a star at the start, he isn't going to dominate teams, he is going to be frustrating to watch.. but in the long term, he could become a very good player (not going to be Ronaldo standard though)

Well said mate. I think the negative response to Zaha is ridiculous. He might not score goals for fun but he has a lot of talent. People spend their time on here complaining about Ashley Young and Valencia, which in my opinion is fairly justified, but yet they then slate the possible signing of a young prospect who can challenge them for their place?

Zaha would be a great signing, I think he would develop fantastically at United and could become a very good player. I am not saying he will turn out like Ronaldo or even Nani, but buying talented young prospects can't be anything other than good for the club.
Absolutely. Buying young players is only a positive move for the club and i personally have no issue paying 15m for a young, talented, English player.

The hypocritical nature of some fans is a joke. How can you say Young is s**t, Valencia is s**t and Nani is s**t and then say why are we buying another winger?!!!!

So Zaha the championship guy rated at 15m, and Isco the best young player of the year rated at 16m. Hmm...Yup, We should totally go for the talented young english guy and leave the best young player of the year who's already proven in La liga and CL.

People need to get off Wilfried Zaha's back

I have been reading so many negative posts about Wilfried Zaha.....the guy is only 20!! People are saying "He isn't a goal threat", neither was Ronaldo when he came and he isn't a striker, he's a winger. How many goals have Valenica, Young and Nani scored for us this year? Others say "He hasn't played well for Palace", please the guy has played nearly every game for them and they are 4th in the Championship, he must be doing something right!

This consensus that he needs to be proven, scoring goals and setting the world alight at the age of 20, playing for Crystal Palace, is pathetic. Yes, you hope he's a goal threat and can provide assists but he is a young lad and playing in a better team will only improve him. He has got everything in his locker to be a top player, albeit his finishing ad final ball need to be honed. Remember that Ronaldo was very hit and miss over his first few seasons, plus Nani continues to be like that and nobody can doubt his talent.

With regards to the amount being touted, £15m is a lot to pay for a youngster. However, we paid £12m for Ronaldo (after a friendly game where he played exceptionally well), who was unproven, erratic, full of tricks and the only people that had heard of him were Football manager users! You also have to bear in mind the inflated price nowadays because of Chelsea, City, PSG etc. Also don't forget that young, talented English players are rare to find and there will be a premium on their head.

I'm not saying we will sign him, or that he will become a fantastic signing, I'm just stating that you cannot expect him to be anything special just yet and simply give him time.
