    The-Truth:
Eventhough many will say he'll cost so much, he'll actually cost very little.
Perez said that signing Zidan was the cheapest thing he done ! Want to know why? Because the sponserships and the merchandise he generated were immense enough to make his sale cheap.
If why signed Ronaldo, we'll win every cup we play next year, making our global appeal even bigger = Bigger sponsers + Bigger merchendise + Higher value.
We can sell Nani for 25m to improve out budget and free wages. + This year will probably be Giggs' and Scholes' last, so we'll have to buy anyway.
    Business-wise and Football-wise, Ronaldo is a win-win situation.
Imagine RVP, Rooney, and Ronaldo in the same team ! Unstoppable !

Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Ron f'in aldo. He is gone, because he wanted to leave!!!!! He doesn't wanna play for us!! I don't understand why people can't get over him. Plus I always thought he was to selfish and he still is, move on... WE ARE UNITED

    Re: Sign Ronaldo

So the OP says we will win every cup we play in. Really? How has that worked out for Real Madrid? Is that the way it worked when Ronaldo was here the first time? No shot at Ronaldo, but obviously he does not guarantee winning every trophy.

Now as far as increased merchandising dollars, it has been said many times on this forum that our deal with Nike is for a set amount so increased shirt sales only really help them,. At least until the new shirt deal is worked out.

Obviously in the world of footballl almost anything is possible, but I am going to keep the opinion that the chances of him coming back right now are low. But hey, in prior windows I was 100% certain he would not comeback that window, so maybe this is the summer.

I stand behind my actual words not the ones you are pretending I said

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to start another Ronaldo thread. Not going to happen.SAF said himself as much as he would love to see Ronaldo back here he would cost hundreads of millions no club can afford him not even City.Plus with the financial rules coming out soon signing players like this well for massive money just won't happen no more.Forget him.We had many great moments with him and watched him develop into the best player in the world. He loves this club this is his real home but he won't leave Real simple as that.
This, the only way this would happen is if he basically narrowed it down to us and only us, which would be a dangerous move for him. How I mean is what Alba and Kagawa did, they basically had a year to run on they're contract and they refused a move anywhere else but here, so it took EVERY other team out of the equation and they would have to accept whatever that club offered, or lose him for free. But that'd never happen, as he's all about respect and that's not something you do as a respect. He said he wanted to become Real's top ever goalscorer.

Another reason is that when he was here, United were Europe's superpower, we had 3 PL title's on the trot, a Champions league winners medal and runner's up medal, he won Ballon D'Or, he won everything you could at United. He had done everything he could, and as well as going to his boyhood club he wanted the challenge. Now he's got the challenge of making himself the best in the world, now he's got to challenge of the Champions League with Real, now he's got the challenge of becoming they're top goalscorer, and to make Real the dominant side in Spain once more. He's happy there, and we know what our boy likes, he likes to challenge himself.

He anit coming back, ever. I WISH he would, believe me, he's a childhood hero of mine. But by the time he (if he does) finishes what he does in Spain, he'll turn into another Beckham if you ask me, and although we could of brought him back at no extra cost (Beckham) we didn't; same will go for Ronaldo and by which time im guessing we'd have a new manager anyways.

    Re: Sign Ronaldo

In fairness although we should chase muppets from the forum it doesn't hurt to have a few dreamers, makes the place a little more lighthearted, it has become a bit of a boring place to visit of late and it seems like actual debate and conversations have been replaced with one line detractions and insults.

The point the OP makes from a financial point of view is correct, it's just that obviously he chose a player that would course dismissive comments rather than debate about how clubs finance the seemingly impossible.
