It's not as straightforward as that though. So say we move him for £5mill and save £70k/week for next 2 years, we still need to bring in a replacement. With the money we get from Anderson's fee and saving in wages you cant get any decent player so we would have to add at least another £10/15million to get in a decent enough replacement. Now given Scholes and Giggs will both retire within the next season or so you are going to have to replace other midfielders too on top of Anderson. That would strap up a lot of cash.
In short, it is probably more logical to keep him and let him run down his contract, this way you only pay his wages without worrying about spending on replacements. Pus he is still a useful player.
