Agree with MATT theres so much depth in this squad that theres too much debate for players to get game time because there are so many in good form

In all honesty, I don't think the 99 squad was quite as good as people make out, and our current squad is better than people make out. Starting 11 is very close, but the depth in this squad is definitely better than 99.

I agree we are a stronger squad now!! Although the starting 11 is very debatable, younger Scholes and Giggs, Keane, Stam would defiantly walk into this team. Irwin wins a place also, maybe Yorke, I haven't decided on other positions.

More a reference to strength in depth than quality of starting 11. Not implausible if you ask me.

Scholes and Fletch are the only injured at this stage. And we are in pole position to get into the quarter in both F.A and UCL and 12 points adrift at the top. We just need to keep our focus and not get too cocky/excited. I think he is just looking at the position we are in without injuries. A lot more depth than in 99

He was just saying better strength in terms of numbers thats all. So think those comments have been over hyped a bit. He therefore wasnt really saying better in quality terms on a player for player basis. Just strength in numbers
