Draw isn't bad, I think. But the squad should understand that Today's Roma isn't like last year's Roma, which was lost 7 - 1. Don't forget the defeat in FA Cup. We should change tactics and manner of playing. We need only effective passing, midfielders' quality and strikers' good finishing!!!!

    Deep Red...:

I think that everyone agrees that the CL draw was pretty good for us, and for more than one reason.. Here are the main good things about this draw as I see it..

1- The obvious, which is meeting Roma in the quarter finals. I am not saying they are an easy team, as there are no easy teams left now anyway, is there? But Roma is a familiar opponent, and when you think you're strong, you would always like to avoid surprises. We had a couple of good results this year against them, and this tie should be within our reaches. But we have to concentrate and respect them though, they are after all a good team... So no English team, no Barcelona, and no visit to Turkey. Not bad.

2- In the semi-final, we are most likely going to meet Barcelona, which is relatively easier if you compare them to the other possibilities, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea (most likely).. I follow Barcelona's games, and United's quick counters could be very deadly for Barca. They can't cope with quick and strong teams. They've almost lost all of their games against the strong teams in the league. Their defence is a mess. In the last 2 games in the league they recieved 6 goals. So I think avoiding the English teams in the semi-final (If we progress of course) is good too.

3- Arsenal got a tough draw against Liverpool, and they'll play Liverpool 3 times in 6 days!! Which increases the possibility that they could slip up yet again in the league.

4- Chelsea got an easy draw, which increases their chances of going through to the semi-finals. Which means when we meet Chelsea in the league, we won't be the only team who's got tiring CL matches on both ends of the encounter.. Also, their tie in the semi-finals won't be an easy one either, facing Arsenal or Liverpool. This might help us in our away game against Chelsea.

5- In the quarter-finals, our CL games are scheduled on the 1st and the 9th of April, which gives us a space of eight days (better than six) to deal with the away game at Middlesbrough in between the two legs. On the other side, Arsenal and Cheslea will have a space of 6 days only, and Arsenal got a game against Liverpool too in between the two legs, with Chelsea travelling to Manchester city..

We have to move our home game against Aston Villa sheduled on Sunday to Saturday though, since our first leg against Roma will be on Tuesday..

6- We will have our 2nd leg at home both in the QF and the SF if we progress. AND we were drawn the "home team" in the final too.

So overall I think it was a pretty good draw for us.. Good luck to us in the coming games.....

Re: Why this draw was good for us...

I am happy with the draw. I wanted to avoid an English side and we dont face one untill the final, if they make it that far. I am happy about that because Champions League is about facing sides from other Leagues around Europe not the Premiership. When you get to the final it's about winning but I was brought up on watching United play the likes of Juventus, Bayern, Barcelona they were great helped fall in love with the club.

The away ties are first which is an advantage if you score! My only worry is United are no longer BOLD enough away from Home. Our away record is poor in Europe and I think Ferguson uses the 4-3-3 too much and it does'nt give United that edge the 4-4-2 does.

Playing AS Roma ain't as straight forward as some may think. We hurt them real bad last season and they will want to get revenge! They know alot about us as have learned the their lesson's tactically from what happend last year. They played alot more efficently at Old Trafford in September so I see them as big Bannana skin! On the other hand our players will know they can be beaten and if we do score away and don't lose more than two goals we will have advantage at Old Trafford where we have an excellant record.

I we get through then we could get Barcelona! What a game that would be. The likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinhio, Rooney, Henry, Tevez can't wait.
