Come on guys one penalty can't make berba that bad....It was just not his day.....Don't act like you have just joined united this season and you don't know that things have been happening (Ronaldo missing penalties) and many more.

Anyway I don't blame you for all your feelings as there is only one person responsible for our loss.

Mate, my point is that missing the penalty is not the end of the world, but they way he kicked it was horrible, also he didn't do alot during the match.

I don't want to start the usual Tevez vs Berba arguement, but during the match Tevez was coming back more often to prepare the passes to Macheda and Welback, we suffered in the midfield because Anderson was almost alone when we attack, Gibson likes more to defend rather than going forward while Park wasn't in his day.

Macheda moved well but he still doesn't have the experience to get rid of the man to man defence played against him

I hope as you said that Berba will be better next season, but just for the sake of comparison, R Da Silva only played with the first team this year and see how he proved himself

    Cheers

"Tevez was coming back more often to prepare the passes to Macheda and Welback"

Is this not what people complain about Berbatov doing? Going back giving the ball to people in front of him? After all Tevez was playin up front. Yes Da Silva has played very well for us but remember Evra and Vidic when they started? They didnt get off to a great start. I know they were signed in January but still, there were plenty people that doubted them. Now look at them.

PS : Apologies if the first post seemed disrespectful, not intended. Just getting my point across. Big Smile

first off its quintuple, and second, just because you take a really poor penalty doesent mean anything. dont you remember ronaldo missing a pen in the champions league final? does that mean he is ***? mabey you only started supporting united after we won the champions league. im not sure he is worth 30 mill but he has done alot for us this season. i expect him to come back on good form soon.
Agre, I'm not sure that he worth 30 mill or not but he did a lot on this season..... poor penalty but brave to take it... he didn't kill anyone in the club.... everyone can make mistake

Gues who, magic Tuscan-him again!SmileI was shocked when i read here that he is guilty for the loss against Liverpool when he came on the pitch in the 72 min and the result was awful!

Some people seem to forget how decisive his role was, when Roony was injured and he was the man to take responcibility with some goals and assists. Then we took the lead in the league and mada some points difference! He was our player of the month then!

without this goals and assists we might be in the place of Arsenal ,right? But its allrigt,i know what Dimi can do,so very soon many of you will have to appologise for your recent stupid posts!

You'll be lucky to get an apology from some members on this forum.
They have it in their head that Berba is not fit to be a united player, and no matter what he does will change their attitude.
Different styled players make a team.

We went 2 season with a very good striker (SAHA) that never seemed to play on the pitch (ALWAYS INJURED), but was still getting paid a lot of money per week. Now thats wasting money.

Berba comes into a great team thats just won the PL & CL in 1 season. Of course he needs time to adjust.
They rest of the players have been together for awhile already, so he needs time to adjust & same goes the other way.

Please read http://community.manutd.com/forums/t/40237.aspx before making any more unfair and un educated statements about him. One penelty miss doesnt make him the worst player at united, if it did then what are you saying about ferdinand??

Mate, play good but miss a penalty kick, people won't talk, but playing badly and also miss a penalty kick is a disaster.

R F missed a penalty kick, but he played very well and thanks to the 4 defenders and sometimes Fosters (who made several terrible mistakes) we didn't concede a goal.

Ziko missed, Blatini as well and many others, but during the matches before and after they played well.

At least hit the ball properly

Thats bull. Play good but miss a penalty, thats ok? Not really. Penalties are a lottery. I agree Berbatov hit one of the worst penalties I have seen in my life. But dont forget he came on in extra time. There were 11 other players on the pitch for 90 minutes including the player everyone considers a god on this froum, Tevez. Did Tevez score in 90 mins, um nope. Did he score in the extra time? No, did he even take a penalty? No. Get off Berbatovs back. If you think he's bad then hassling him all the time isnt gonna give him much confidence is it? If he heard the fans behind him it would do him good. Dont forget Ronaldo missed a penalty in the Champions League. He got lucky in the end. I didnt hear many calling for him to be sold after that. And as I posted on a different post (which seems dead) :

Rooney has 9 goals this season in the league and Berbatov has 8. (Ronaldo top for United with 15, Rooney is second highest)

Rooney has 5 assists and Berbatov has 9. (Giggs second highest for United with 7)

Rooney is 318 in the Actim Index and Berbatov is 489. (Berbatov is highest for United and 5th Overall)

I know some people may disagrees with the Actim Index but it covers everything, goals, assists, distance covered, etc..

Not to mention another guy posted that Berbatov scored the winning goal in the following matches :
    United 1 - 0 Middleborough - 29th December 2008

    United 1 - 0 Bolton - 17th January 2009

    United 2 - 1 Tottenham - 24th January 2009

    United 2 - 1 Newcastle - 4th March 2009

I think Berbatov will be better next season, after a full season with United and a proper pre-season to train with the club.

Well,if you dont talk about the penalty, then i really dont know what are you talking about! It is his first season in united and so far he has 13 goals and 9 assists! Not bad for a first season i think and some games still to come, right?I m pretty sure that you have notised that some of his goals and assists brought us points, that gave us the lead in the league-Bolton,Midlesbrough,Stoke city,Chelsea, Newcastle,West ham etc.And i can bet on that the best of him is still to come!Remember also that he wasnt in the team for the preseason.I think that some of you are too cruel about him, from the start till now and i find this unfair!

    Exactly!!!

The thing is if Berba did not play, and we had lost I wonder who would have got the blame ?
13 Goals & 9 Assists with no pre-season to train with teammates in amazing as far as am concerned.
And don't forget his assist starting immediately agaisnt liverpool to Tevez with a few minutes of the game starting.
    He will only get better.

what the hell is going on??????????????? why most of us alway blame to our players, line up or SAF?..... I really disagree bout it why u have to say.. just like, Berba that blew it away or say that Berba is lazy and becoz of him and his penalty...:(( an why all of the best thing that u can do is Blame? It's unacceptable to blame the players that try their best to do... don't u see that this time is not to blame ...It's over I know u pain from it....not just only u , me and the fans over world wide in pain too... I don't want to argue to anyone but I just wanna say What I think and what we should to do... I admire our youngster and I admire the players who kick penalty...In that suituation...full of passsion and stressfull ..It's not easy to handle it, not just only them...I watched on TV...and I'm sure that If u at NEW WEMBELY that moment u can felt what the players felt.... They try their best , youngster did well and we have work to do...to get another Trophy and let's get our confident back.... now, we have to show them what we got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we should have won the match in ragurlar time. Penalties are always a chance . . . Berba made a mistake and we lost, but thats all part of the game. We lost the game by not playing 100 percent the whole game and because riley didnt give an obvious penalty and not because berba or rio missing . . . STOP SLAYING

Oh not to mention the fact that when Berbatov's penalty was saved it was all square as Cahill had missed so. So Ferdinands penalty was the one that cost us. But even saying that I dont blame Ferdinand.

Are you so blinded by your own opinion that you can not accept that without him, this season would see liverpool edge away from us, thanks to him we have a big chance to equal their record! To me thats a fantastic acheivment and something SAF has been workin towards for a very long time, he was not going to compromise it!
