    audouc:

Thank you for the POST. I wont LOCK any more but advice the person wrong FORUM. To be honest, on most occasions the LOCK does not work anyway because FANS will reply to the initial opening POST and will not see the LOCK. I will continue to report any POST that I think should not be in the FORUM and a DUPLICATE POST in the way I have always done. We need a bit of clarity by the MODS on here though. A lot of us FANS who have been on here for a while have seen how these FORUMS have gone from mediocre to bad to unbeleivable. A little bit of leeway has to be given here by the MOD. Myself like a lot of other FANS who enjoy this WEBSITE and content, who come in from work, school, collegue and Uni. and then see the total mess the FORUMS are in, you begin to lose heart. I am afraid to say, the old board was a lot more organised and monitered than this new set up. We have lost far to many decent FANS on here who have just had enough, and left. There are a few pluses (+) on these FORUMS but a hell of a lot minuses (-). One that does annoy me is a FAN will create a POST with blatent abuse, either swaring or r a c i a l. He is reported for abuse, his account is de-activated and before you can say Jack Flash he/she is back under a differant account, change there signature by a few letters and laugh about it and continue on there merry way. There are a lot of other issues that I am sure other intelligent FANS will bring up. To be honest, there are enough intelligent FANS out there who could come on here and be a MOD on a daily basis and help to make these FORUMS the way they were. One name to me that springs to mind is an intelligent member in here named Gavinio.     Devil

Well said and I agree completely. I would like to thank all the fans ( like you) to devote so much of your own time to help clean up the Forum.

I think the lock feature must stay on and the MOD must be more and more active in locking them. There is a whole lot of abuse and all the stupid things going on.As a fan i am sure the current MOD will also not enjoy plain rubbish.Like for example:If i decide to write something about Ronaldo's transfer to Madrid,i already see a lot of posts anywhere and everywhere. There should be more replies to one post rather than lesser replies to more posts. And talking about Audouc's plan to give someone like Gavinio that kind of responsibility is actually pretty good!

Idea [I] Locking Posts / Duplicate Threads

    Morning everyone,

(this is being posted across all topics)

Can I please ask that when a post/thread is alerted for the mods attention, either for it being in the wrong section or a similar theme already being discussed, that the thread in question is not locked at time of alerting.

Whilst we are grateful for the assistance in bringing these threads to our attention, locking them is actually a move we'd prefer not to take place.

If the post is harmless or doesn't contain any offensive language or links, then locking it denies others the chance to contribute to it before it's processed by the mods.

We can & do move threads which are flagged up (thanks for that  Yes) but we can also now merge threads as well.  So this will allow us to make the front page of the forum look less cluttered.

When alerting us to similar threads, any extra information you can provide in the alert will be genuinely much appreciated.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions to the above, please do reply and we'll see how we go.

    Thanks all.
