Re: does anyone believe this villa, silva stuff???....thoughts?

In a word NO! I tend not to listen to gossip and rumours perpertrated by the media and Dozy fans on this forum. How many times have we heard Utd are gonna sign this&that player, Utd are very interested in this&that player? Only for it to turn out to be total pap and then for these so called knowledgable fans to disappear....Too many times if we're honest.

IMO you should only believe what is confirmed by reliable sources. By all means speculate but speculation has to be based on facts otherwise it's just fantasy.

Usually when Fergie wants a player he himself confirms it i.e. Rooney,Carrick,Berbatov,Ferdinand,Hargreaves,Van Nistlerooy. Yes now and again we get a surprise but usually that's because it's a player we've either not heard of or a last minute thing.

Listening to these rumours only leads to heartbreak and bitterness so it's best to try and stay balanced imo and look at confirmed facts.

If you don't want to believe me then just think back to the last transfer window!

Aguero 4000 posts of definate interest and definate bids..Lies and there was Silva,Villa,Sneijder,Hunterlaar,Young plus many more but did we actually bid for any of them or show definate interest? NO

Basically Sky Sports doesn't even believe their own story

    http://www.skysports.com/football/transfer_centre/0,20369,12691_200910,00.html

Look under Wednesday October 28th, the line that says Valencia Could Sell Key Duo......Sky Sports doesn't even rate their own story as a POSSIBILITY, so I think we all just need to relax and wait and see on this one.

no way will we be signing both and i doubt we'lll get villa but i can def see us trying to sig silva im just not sure weather we'll get him or not, bu the truth is it's practiclly impossible for us to know as fergie's not even sure what will happen.

    In my opinion:

If Fergie wants to win the champions league again before he retires, he will have to show some ambition in the market. Trust youth, unproven players and aging stars is romantic and everything but the only way we are going to make up for Ronaldo's absence is by spending his fee on quality replacements(aka David VILLA, not silva) which we have not done yet.

Having said that, he can only show ambition in the transfer market if money is made available is by the Glazers and it wasnt in the summer and unfortunately, I dont think it will be in January either.

As for Silva, I can only see him coming if Nani goes the other way, which is pretty unlikely.

We do seem very keen on both these players whether we sign them or not i dont k now but we can easily afford them both as we stillhave money left over from the sale of Ronaldo so anything can hapen an with Valencia admitting that they need to sell to balance the books rthen there is every reason that we can sign them.I think we do need both players both players will give us more options which is what we need Villa is the goalscoring striker that we lack while Silva will give us much more creavity and flair in our midfield aswell.

I think we should sign Villa for 30-35million and Silva for 20-25million.I think these two should be our main signings either in January or next summer we really do need these two and i hope we sign them we have to wait and see.

Of cours, SAF is weighing up the option. Silva and Villa are two of the best offensive players there is. We are lacking in the offence (this makes the defence lacking also). Silva is a natural left winger, villa could give us what Berba is missing right now (scoreing goals). Berba is a great player, he has a great first touch and great passing skill. But for his height he's lacking headers and for his abillities, he's lacking infront of the goal. Villa could give us what we need, making the opponent afraid and he scores goals when he sees a chance. I'm not sure if he links up well with Rooney, Berba, Owen, but you have that problem with any new players (he's worth a shot). It would give us more depth in the squad and attacking option the same goes for Silva, he 's more natural left winger than Nani, we wouldn't be volnurable on injuries.

I can see a move being possible, because of the performance we had from the beginning of the season. We didn't play well so far. We still won a lot of games, but if we keep playing like this a move for one or both of them is very much possible.

we haven't played great this season, except when we demolised wigan in the second half, but we were absolute awful in the first half.

we've struggled to score goals as i predicted because we struggled to score last season and that was with ronaldo. Ronaldo was by no means a team player but his presence got us goals, assists and opened up the midfield for players like carrick etc. He would always draw about 3 ppl on him.

    Plus

let's not forget he had a really good partnership with rooney. they linked up ever so well and could really unlock defences.

Include Nani part of the deal n' pay 43 million.

Ha. Include Nani and pay £57 million. We would need to pay them to take Nani.

The only game I was impressed was against Spurs....rest all there were just a lil flashes of brilliance here and there and I really missed a finisher...As for Villa, he is the best in the business and it will surely add to our pursuit of European glory...Whatever lil I saw of Obertan, I was happy..he looks good...and I am nt sure if we would need Silva when he comes in the first team...Anyone else impressed by Obertan??

JR Lewis such a great post man.. My words exactly.. Bottom line our SQUAD will compete with alot but lets face it. Our best 11 against Liverpool,Chelsea,Arsenal are average.. The reason why we are second is due to a own goal at Arsenal and a 97min winner at City.We could be in Liverpool position if we weren't lucky.. The problem is we have too many players that are not performing.. Dont tell me Nani didn't get a chance and he doesn't even look like he could be as good as Ronny or any other winger.. We have to many average players and thats y we beat the average teams. But come to Barca,Chelsea we wont be able to compete.. Im a die hard United fan and trust me i dont mind the team we have because Tosic,Adem,Obertan,Macheda,Welbeck are all waiting to fire. They would have had more will to win because they have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Bottom line we need Silva and Villa.. How potent will our Front line be..

will be good buy...... we only heve one named striker, Rooney. If he gets injured, then Owen and Berbatov are not reliable. So i think we need to get atleast one striker, or play Owen in most of the match. Silva will be better in left side......

We cannot rely on Nani anymore. he is not coming up to the mark. Obertan is young, will take atleast 6 months to break into regular firdt team squad. Tosic is also the same. So i thinnk Silva is a must buy. But it wont affect the team if we dont buy them.

Lets just hope for the best.

    United till I die....
