Re: Video: Fans on the future

    Website Editor:

Tosic, Obertan, King, Eikrem and James might not be household names yet but fans are predicting big things for this new generation of United youngsters.

ManUtd.com's camera crew caught up with some supporters the day after the Reds' victory at Barnsley in the Carling Cup, and discovered a wave of optimism regarding the reserve-team players who are knocking on the first-team door, including Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda who both featured at Oakwell.

Watch Video: Fans on the future for free here

Hopefully an extended run in the Carling Cup will give these young players another chance to perform on the big stage. They're already no strangers to live TV cameras, of course, having appeared regularly in live reserve matches on MUTV.

Please discuss which young United players excite you most in this thread.

    Regards, The Editor

I think we shud recall tom cleverly from loan,he is doing extremly well at watford and is a top player

hewson brandy gray chester simpson gray and heaton are poor and are nowhere near united quality!

even gibson he is 22, older than ando and possebon and cleverley but he hasnt shown anything to say he has more ability than any of these... ando is levels above him...cleverley looks like the real deal attacking mid and at the beginning of last season possebon looked to of pushed his way into the side!

cathcart should be on the list he is a quality defender..

I think Zoran Tosic is ready to be a first teamer,,,he is good

Obertan is the one who excites me the most, his speed is amazing and his skills on the ball are also top class

Macheda is also ready to be in the first team

King looks promising as well as Eikrem

It's hard to single anyone out, and we have to trust the coaching staff.

I remember how so many fans crticised Darren Fletcher - and look at him now. He is a "game decider"

For me, they are amazing young talent.

If i was asked to just chooose 1 unproven player, it would be De Laet. He reminds me of a young Ryan Giggs. Watch him Grow into one of our best.

    Benjamin Smythe:

Obertan surely is a player to watch but needs a bit of time because he's just came back out of injury.
Tosic should be given his chance to play in the first team now, Nani is not performing the way he should be so why not give Tosic a chance ? With Tosic we've got our new Ryan Giggs. This boy should break trough this season. Kiko of course is a great talent but should be given some time to develop and he will turn into a great player. Darren Gibson is ready for first team football, the midfield will be so strong with him playing next to Darren Fletcher or Owen Hagreaves. Cleverly will be a great central midfielder as well. Last but not least Danny Welbeck! Great player with bags of scoring potential, sure he will get his chances this season.

Welbeck, Gibson, Tosic, (Obertan) = ready for the Premier League
De Laet, King, Eikrem, Cleverley = Carling cup + subs

Manchester united have got the most young talents in the world.

we got one of the best though i'm a bit envious of what arsenal are producing at the moment, we talk about obertan looking good but they have walcott who has so much experience under his belt already yet is younger than obertan, then there is also wilshere, marida, ramsey, lansbury and euston.

all are great to watch.....i wish all could get a chance but i know thats not possible.Obertan is a great winger *** attacking midfielder. i like him alot. In Zoran, may be we have the best left winger in the premierleague....i wish he would get a chance. He is fast, cunny , reads the game, has loads of skill and has a good left foot shot. May be he should be starting more oftenly so that he can get used to the rigours of the league. He is my favourite.

Eikrem has a great free kick. I have not seen him much but i think he is a great midfielder. Kiko is also a great striker. Powerful and with an eye for goal. He is also very deft infront of goal and reads the game well. Welbeck is my other pick. He is such a talented lad. i would like to see him more often, not on the wings but as a striker. Josh King is powerful and fast. He has alot of technical skill as well.I have not watched Eckersley play apart from his game against Valencia, and i think that was a cool finish.

to be honest as per usual we have a rich array of young talentcoming through.. i do hink it was a top shout by Fergie to say Welbeck will be#23 onthe flight to Sth Africa. I almost feel frgie should rely on tosic, obertan and welbeck more often this season... after the woeful display against Liverpool i reckon he should give welbeck and tosic a chance to shine. We go Blackburn and it may well be ideal to drop one or two regulars.... we cant keep relying on the giggsy class. I reckon they can now start to be involved in all butour closest rivals Chelsea... apart from that i reckon they are all suitable.

Must admit my fav at this moment is King, Welbeck and Tosic... sorry but tis too hard to choose one!!
