he has been ok nothing more. i know its early days but i think he still has a long way to go.

there is a lot of expectation on him now that nani and valencia have not been that threating on the wings as we would have expected. but am hopeful that the 3 of them will come good in the 2nd half of the season

I felt like hitting someone when he missed, but I thought he looked very good both in the Cup tie, and in the two league games he came on in. Anyway, slaters will always be there to put our players down whenever they make a mistake, but there are always 70 thousand fans to get behind the team when needed.

I'm really confused by all the people slating him?

I was at the game and he played really well and linked up brilliantly with Evra, Anderson and Rooney. The onlt things I can remember him doing wrong were his first run and his shot in front of goal.

I'm sure the people slating him only saw the MOTD footage which showed nothing. So much was left out from the game.

Agreed, mate: there are times when a thread is utterly pathetic... this is one of them.

If he had took his chance and scored, we would be full of praise and wanting him to start.

    He spooned it...

But I hope he gets another chance tonight. Would be good to see him start against CSKA.

    Re: obertan WAS DISSAPOINTING

I agree, anyone who saw him midweek got  a glimpse of some of his quality.  He looked very pacey and clever with the ball, something are wingers lack due to giggs playing a  center midfield role now.  He got the *** kicked out of him midweek which is always a good sign for a winger, very quick with the ball at his feet.  If u are cynical u can call it a dissapointing debut but he was crazy nervous, his touch was incredibly off and that miss should prove to anyone beyond any doubt of just how nervous he was. I am hoping he settles in quickly because i think we need him this season, u want to talk bout dissapointing how bout nani?  He just seems to lack drive and real intent, and his set piece deliveries are underwhelming to say the least.  Obertan to replace nani in games that really matter down the stretch, i am calling it now.

He was a threat, sure but I hope he doesn't turn out to be another Nani/Djemba-Djemba/Richardson, etc..

Big miss, but thought he did okay, he didn't light up the place but he didn't do bad at all. New system & new  teamates, give him time I think he will do well.

    HELLO!

Did nobody see his first appearence against Barnsley in the Carling Cup?

I thought he looked a quality professional and everyone has to remember that he is only a youngster he does not have the experience of Ryan Giggs he's a new player and new to the premiership and considering everything I think he did well on his league debut. Yes he did miss an open goal but alot of the greats have done it and I strongly believe he is going to be a Manchester United great. Fergie knows what he is on about!

    Smile
