nani will never be a ronaldo but how many more chances does he want, 2 yrs an still nothin from him the only good thing he done this season is score at wemberly, and get subed he gotta go part ex wit 40m for david villa and david sillva

I agree, he tries too much to imitate Ronaldo's style..he needs to find his own, and then maybe he will actually start taking off as a player. I'm very dissapointed in his inconsistency considering all the games he has played.

Nani is a very talented player with loads of potential, but hes been here almost 3 years its time for him to s.hit or get off the pot.

i love nani we should still keep playing him and see what happens,, and keep bringin obertan on as a sub until ready

Sir Alex should & i am sure will do whats best for the team & that does'nt involve lining out a player week in week out just to see what happens. You seem to think Obertan is'nt ready yet, i think he is ready & id love to see him starting against Chelsea next week.

Nani is still inconsistant as ever. If he comes good, then good for him. If not, he has only himself to blame. He is getting lots of chances to make it this season so he better do well. Good to see Sir Alex putting a hand on his shoulder and giving him some support though.

As for Obertan, he's not ready yet, that much is certain.

I don't think the fans getting on Nani's back will bring out the best in him. He's obviously got to improve his performances, but that's down to him. Some characters respond to criticism with resilience by feeding off the energy to prove their doubters wrong. I don't think he's that kind of player, he needs confidence through motivation. If SAF can't get him to the level required, then he isn't cut out for this league, but having it pointed out to him all the time through hostile crowds probably isn't helping.

If he is improving then it is at the worlds slowest pace....... The way he trudged off with his head bowed, dragging his heels looking like a lost soul! It was as if the penny had dropped and he realised his days were numbered! He must have a feeling in the back of his mind that the transfer window will soon be upon us and he might be surplus to requirement. He stated at the start of the season he would step up to the plate, so far he couldn't find the plate if it had a massive light on it flashing out morse code saying "i'm a plate!". Disapointing, mediocre, average, ordinary, you get the gist. Good, but no cigar!

He was poor yet again - of course he had to be pulled out. No excuses there.

Saying Nani is inconsistent isn't slating the lad; sadly, it's the truth. I'm not one to slice-and-dice one of the lads but there is nothing worng with calling it as one see it, without being disrespectful to any of the players. Obertan, and other up and coming youngsters, will provide enough competition to make Nani and others face reality... there's no job security in football, especially with United.

Agree...Nani was extremley disappointed to come off and you cant help but feel a bit of sympathy for the lad, he tried to prove his worth...yet again there will be a number of supporters slating our players saying the usual he is useless...inconsistent...blah blah blah...well I for one would really like to see him succeed and with the right support behind him I am sure he can beging to get the confidence to make him in to a very good player for us..look at anderson...although he hasn't exactly set the theatre of dreams alight...he has become a fans favourite to some because of his tenacity and drive and humored personality..showing that he has character...and we are seeing in confidence in his performances on the pitch, for example against blackburn he was very keen to be on the ball at all times. I just wish we could stop labelling people as the next Ronaldo...there will not be another Ronaldo because players like that don't come on a production line...and now that he has gone its about NANI and players alike step up...its the same thing with Valencia they are there own players with their own unique attributes...so if the manager has enough faith in them why shouldn't we...and to go on about £17million...what a waste ***..lets put things in to perspective it is not a player who places a value on their heads its the clubs and if we spent that much on him so be it...obviously their was something we saw in him albeit that we have only seen glimpses... I am really rooting for the players to come good this season and Nani is one of them...

I think he's great, football skills are fantastic he just needs to get the pass away quicker he's trying to do too much in my opinion, aside from that great footballer, some of these numpties that slate him need to realise that fergie bought him for a very good reason and he has kept him for the same reason.

yea, that is true. Nani has been giving some oppurtunities this season, while Tosic, Welbeck have been put on standby. Nani will be under pressure the next 2 months until January to improve his game, or I think SAf will let him go. Even though Obertan was nervous and clumsy a time on his debut, He had a presence on the field that Nani did not have.

Yes i must admit, i do feel sorry for a player who is on 50 grand a week, been at a club 2 seaons and more, hasnt shown ANY consistency, had plenty of chances, all he does is provide 1 cross or through ball..even..2 if were lucky a game, we also get a wondergoal once in a blue moon and he stands still waving his right foot over the ball in trying to beat a man.....all im saying is Valenica looks like he has been here longer than Nani and that speaks volumes for me.....give me a 35 year old Giggs over Nani anyday..........so yes i must admit i do feel for the lad....Confused lol

It's not really surprising that he didn't look happy, when it was so obvious that most of us were pleased to see him being substituted and couldn't wait for Obertan to take his place. I do feel sorry for him, cos he's definitely the scapegoat at OT at the moment and I'm pretty sure he knows it. It's not nice to hear our own players getting jeered, but to be fair he's had lots of opportunities and he just hasn't taken them.

Great skill and ability, but poor decision making. Obertan looks a better bet at the moment . . .
