Nani has the potential to be a better player than Ronaldo (i am not joking)

if he gets regular first team football and score a few more goals.... he will have the confidence to really show what he is made of

will everyone stop with obertan, the first impressions of Nani   were way better than obertan, Nani is potentialy extremely good, he might just take more time to mature...
Agreed with you 110%..Hardliners in here dont want to see their idols leave who are pretty much worse than nani and have no potential in future, but wants to bring in fresh blood over a 23 year old player who is just low on morale, when valencia or obertan gets injured then they will realise that the job cant be done by thier 35 year old idols.and yes most of you are right im an ageist.

i agree with you ballard.nani has good ball control skills and good speed but his selfishness and rare abilities to provide good crooses for rooney or berbatov disqualifies him from my best. i think Obertan has a greater potential and only needs time to prove himself.Tongue Tied

I don't care about his reaction - he had a lot of time and chances to prove himself - SAF used that rotation and dont ignore any of his first team players - if Nani is a bad signing - OK - sometimes happen to a player to not live to the expectations - it happens before it hapens now - SAF and Nani are human beings at all - SAF sometimes can be wrong at times (jemba jemba, cleberson and others) , but I have never question his ability to create and manage the team - because he is a natural winner all the way.

If Nani is so desperate to show himself and became a next football superstar instead of making the god damned single cross, and understand that he is not the only one on the pitch - it's better for him to go to some mediocre team and entertain the home fans with his tricks. The only important goal which is vital and I can remember is Nani's goal against Tottenham in the begining ot 2007-2008 season, when United had a bad start of the season and the win against Tottenham was the key to the winning road again and win EPL.

However I questioned his "future superstar potential" then, and I am sure now that Nani just missing some basic things to become something other than hot prospect.

And for the money which SAF spent over Obertan - I consider it is a great deal and best money spent from top club in Europe recently - no one will blame SAF for signing him even if he remains a impact sub till the end of the season.

    Matt Cornejo:

I am so frustrated by Nani.  He has it all.  Great pace, good control, a lightning right foot.  Yet he dives, he sulks, he does not think, he is selfish.

This boy just may not have what it takes to succeed at Old Trafford.  Perhaps it would be best for both sides if he was sold.  I don't want to give up on him but I wonder if we have no choice.

yep that's what i've said over n over. He's been with us for 2 n a half year, you would think he would show some improvement. Time is up, time to give someone else a shot now. imagine Obertan in 2 n a half years. He might be world class

Don't worry mates, he's only trying to emulate Ronaldo who never looks happy when he's substituted even after he's played 90 minutes x all matches prior. So I think it's a good start for Nani to start emulating Ronaldo. LOL. I am not a fan of either players anyway so you know..

    Re: Nani + Anderson

Nani should be given more games. ok he is not Ronaldo but he is a good player for the future just like anderson. Soon they will prove their money.

It is time for Nani to step up a level. Maybe he had too much expectations upon him when he first signed for Manutd. Everyone was hoping for another Ronaldo. Pressure might have gotten to him. A little competition for first team spots wouldn't hurt right :)

I wouldn't be surprised if Nani leaves in part exchange for the likes of Silva, Villa , Eden Hazard etc. Nani doesn't have what it takes to be a success at Manchester United or in the EPL imo. He is not improving and has arguably declined this season where he has had the opportunity to up his level. I don't think he is as talented as others believe... perhaps the Sporting fans didn't either as they continuously booed him and couldn't wait to sell him to us. He hardly ever gets past his man with skill or blinding pace to deliver what would be a majority of poor crosses anyway.

I think a move to Spain would be better for his career not just Manchester unite!

I have to agree. I dont see him working out. Now Obertan might have failed to surprise in his debut, but he has certainly gained my vote of confidence

I know as always that Sir Alex knows exactly what he is doing with Nani. What we need from the lad is a little more committment and purposeful play. For me he is trying too hard as a Ronaldo wanabe.Nani should be himself as I know he is an undeniable talent. Our dear Sir Alex wouldn't have touched him with an earth long pole if he wasn't.
