    Cheers Tide.

Taken as Red is the other User/Mod.

Guys, If you see abuses report and we will do our best to address the issue quickly.  This won't include someone being a goof or a Liverpool fan, etc.  Yet we ask that you report when people overstep the "decency line".

gavinio, a quick question. if we report a person's post for abuse, do you moderators get notified in anyway that we have pressed the report button and then can take further action or anything?

I believe that even that you are hardcore fans and posters you will not be able to check every thread possible so I think it should be a thread 'for moderators'.I know there is a report link but last time I've checked it it was too much info so I gave up.Or maybe now is more simple?

Just click report, type the reason why you are reporting it in the subject box i.e. abuse and then just say as per title in the message box.  Then click post.

We have made a suggeston about how this process could possibly be made easier but this needs to be discussed further.

Please don't stop reporting posts if you do see anything wrong.  As you rightly say we cannot check every thread so your help is important.

just a question though, is there a plan of making the live moderators more than 3 in the near future ? i mean is thre any recommendation or qualification?

Honestly, no idea.  I think it will just be a case of seeing how we cope and discussing it with the relevant parties in power as to whether more are needed.  This is still very much a work in progress - for all of us.

well thanks for that info. Well lets just hope everything goes well and hope this will really be a stepping stone to the much improvement of the forum and also improves the behaviour of all users here. Too all united fans and Forum users, weall should just have to support and help these moderators and the forum itself to make further improvements and one way is by abiding to applicable rules. Changes should also start from us, the users. Thanks MODS!

    Yeah I suppose..

At least his ridiculasly long signature won't annoy me anymore.

But anything worth banning, believe me I'll be the first one to report him.

Shannon...He can be a bit of a pest, yet we would need a reason.  Just cause I and others don't agree with him does not mean that he should be run out of here.  I will tell you that one more "comment about the poor" and he may get his walking papers.

We aren't expecting this place to be perfect.  I happen to work a job in which I sit in front of a computer for 12 hours a day, so I will do my best to stay informed.  I am very active on the forum because I breathe United.  I AM biased toward United, yet I have no interest in banning a person if they don't agree with me or even if they do not like United.  We need some of these people to keep the forum lively.

I will tell you that my goal is to keep r-acism and xenophobia out of the forum.  If I can help with that, then I will have done my job.

    Irish-legend:
how are you going to moderate 168 hrs a week of activity on a part time basis

We're not going to moderate 168 hours a week.  We are simply helping out where we can.  We still expect users to report posts as before but we also expect to be able to pick up on things ourselves quickly when we are on here.

The biggest complaint over the past few months, aside from the technical ones, has been about the lack of visible moderators on the site.  We're here now and we know we can't do everything.  What we can do we will do.  This is a start, not the complete solution.
