    Re: Is Nani that poor?

Even in that video some of his decisions were questionable (the defending in the premier league is not that aweful with so much space to run into) n that corner taken was miserably poor! I know hes isn't that bad, but hes average. He is not premiership quality. And even if he may fit in a team like chelsea I just don't think hes the man Manchester United are looking for- not atleast on that left wing. We are known for playing fast pacey football... what Nani does is he recieves the ball n always tries to do something fashionable rather than keeping the flow of the team n running into spaces.

Ronaldo may have taken some time but he always used his pace a lot n defences found it really hard to catch him. Nani seems to be predictable and its sometimes embarassing when defenders get the better of him so easily rather than him getting the better of premiership defenders. The only reason he is picked over tosic is cause of his strength n the way he can hold the ball, but whenever he does his final ball is hopeless! Only a few this season have been good...

But now we have obertan whose physically good enough for the premiership. I think we finally have someone who will show Nani how it needs to be done (except for that miss ofcourse). What I found intriguing about obertan was the way he was always finding himself in space. Morevover he has that third eye n that extra little intelligence we need from a winger. If you recall the Micheal Owen chance in the 94th minute Rooney was on the left n he slid a low cross to his right. It was falling right into Obertan's feet but he let it go cos he knew someone else was coming... Valencia could have shot, but he too showed that extra bit of intelligence by squaring it to Owen who should have hit the back of the net. Had it been Nani in either Obertan's or Valencia's place he would have thought "finally a chance to shoot at goal" without thinking for a second any other move. With his shooting ability he would have socred in the position Valencia was in, but still.... his brain is not good enough for United. Please stop looking at those stupid videos and open your eyes!

Ronaldo at 21 was a notch up in every department or primary attribute Nani has... Maaaybe its just poor form by Nani, but the only way you're gonna see that man in the video do the same thing for United is if he plays in free role or the centre. But that role can't be given to him in the system we play now. Nani scores when he cuts in... I have no problem with what hes capable of... its his decision making, predictable movement and passing ability which is highly questionable.

    Re: Is Nani that poor?

Ronaldo was lucky to involve straight into the first team when he first came. Nani has not gelled well with the rest with the limited appearance in the first team. So maybe a season long loan will help him up. I still believe that he is a good player and able to change things around. He do have certain weaknesses which could be overcome by playing more first team football.

And the video is just to remind everyone what had he did last time. He does have potential. Let's see how does Sir Alex deal with his problem. Loan out Nani and have other wingers to play at that spot should be beneficial to both the club and players.

    Re: Is Nani that poor?

Quite simply, Nani needs his team to play around him...as Ronaldo did. The difference is, Nani isn't showing any consistency, form or ability to threaten teams like Ronaldo did. He has been given chances on the wing, as Ronaldo once was when younger and hasn;t impressed.

Fact of the matter is, Nani is a good footballer (skills-wise) but he cannot read certain movements created by ManUtd players and at times is too selfish with no end product. He just won't, predictively, amount to much at the club. I say we sell or loan him out to save his career. There are many young wingers at our club that deserves the chance to breakthrough also, don't you think they deserve the chance as much if not more than Nani? And a youtube video (metacafe) isn't enough proof to support any claim.

    Is Nani that poor?

I get this video which I have seen for quite a long time and I think that it is worth to be watched. Please feel free to FINISH it.

    http://www.metacafe.com/watch/867617/nani/

After finishing this video, would you think that Nani deserve to be slated by the fans nowadays? Although the video shows the Nani in the past, he is so well in controlling the ball, passing, shooting from long range and his pace to get past the defenders which are rare to be seen when he play for our team.

Yes, when he first came to Man Utd, it is right to think that he was promising as Ronaldo did. However, with the potential and abilities that he has, will he be as poor as how he perform now? In this video, what we can see the most from Nani is his CONFIDENCE. Why do he almost have none when he play for Man Utd now?

Look at the time he played for Portugal, he could score and link well with the team. So let's think again, is it a problem of Man Utd tactic now? Many fans have sounded their concerns of the team play is very boring and lack of creativity. Our team play lacks effective forward run which is threatening, lacks one-two passes which can easily break the opponents defence. And the lack of closing down from the centre gave a lot of freedom to the opponents to create chances, just like the game against Liverpool.

Valencia is hardworking on cutting the opponents passes. But when he is holding the ball, two defenders are closing him down and he can do is to backpass the ball, which happened at the left side of the flank. No overlapping at the flanks means that you couldn't attack more since there are more defenders at the centre.

Every player tries to stay on the position to avoid the formation to be out of shape, this is the main reason that he team lacks creativity. And how does Nani perform under this situation? So, I hope that the fans would appreciate his effort to play well, give him support is the only thing that we can do until the time the playing style is changed and we see our free flowing football again.

Nani, a vote of confidence for you.
