Re: African Talent WILL Now Be Heading Our Way!!!

    Bradley:
I wonder how come United had Essien & Mikel on trials at United when they were youngsters, yet they couldn't sign them due to work permit issues. Yet you claim United are now only interested in African players due to the link you've found?
Seems you don't know how work permits limit who United can or cannot sign. Essien was a United fan and his boyhood hero was Cantona. United have had loads of African players on their books, most of them haven't worked out and others have not been able to sign for United due to work permit issues. Think you need to get facts right before posting on here.

Did you even read the story?

Did you read anywhere in my post that we are only now interested in African players?

Or do you just enjoy criticising people on here?

Probably if YOU got your facts straight, then maybe you wouldn't end up making such a pointless, unfounded, unintelligible and downright stupid post like that.

    Read carefully and properly.

Or, just READ to begin with.

Link- Man Utd to strengthen African talent search ...

This is fantastic news as there is a lot of African talent around.

We don't really have any of them here and this is finally our chance!

It's deals like this that confirm our status as best ever and most famous football club!

    Real Madrid who???

    Who knows?

We may nab "the new Essien" or "the new Drogba" because of this deal!

    Your thought on this.

    Mikael Larsson:

    Dont Get Me Started:

    4-4-2:

Let us not forget one thing... Man utd have traditionally "come good" in January... when other teams seem to lose points we seem to pick them up come January. So what we do not want is too many Africans in the team that we loose to the Africa's Cup of Nations come January...

Remember you can only have so many in the squad.

That's true, what we don't want is an African Ronaldo or RVN where we rely on them so much for a good result, although a good African player would be useful, just like a good player would be useful lol.

Lucky Chelsea in that they also have Anelka.

Anelka? Then we got Evra, he's also african *lol*...=)

Lol what I meant by that is that Drogba and Kalou will be at the African Cup of Nations so they have a good striker other than Drogba who can score goals.

Did a little bit of research and can answer my own question now:

Globacom, the leading mobile telephone provider in Nigeria has signed a deal with English club, Manchester United to give young footballers from West Africa. - Some news thing in Ghana

Also in the U-17 world cup Ghana i think has the youngest player at age 14!! not saying he is good but at the age of 14 and playing for your country a few ages up you must be fairly good, either that or that 1 position he is in they only have terrible players Stick out tongue but theyre still in it so yeah.

Anybody know where in africa the place we made a deal with is? or is it spread all over?

all the african players we signed before sucked.

I have to disagree with you one player who in my eyes was a good whole hearted player for us was Quinten Fortune

I'll defend Manucho as well, after all he wasn't a player that played too much so really he should be considered unproven.

To find Essien, Eto'o, Drogba, Toure's like players would be great, let's hope we do find those players.

This must happen.  Africa is teeming with terrific young talent.  We must get active in Africa to continue to be a world power.

Yes, a new Essien and Drogba would certainly be welcome.
