    Re: Improvements Where ?

    Gavinio:

Taken As Red was the first person to make direct contact with the club about the problems with the forums.  He had alrady been discussing thigs directly with the club before I was invited to come on board and offer my ideas and then Matt became involved as well.  There were other users suggested as people that could help out in this project but for various reasons none of them accepted the invitation to become involved.

That explains that Gav. Thanks. But anouther problem has occured when I Log on. I am writing this at work as I thought it may be too do with my Lap Top at home but the same thing is happening here. If I dont Log on and just read the Forums first all the Avatar pictures show as normal. Yourself, Matt, TakenAsRed,robi,Brian,Supermum etc. My one just shows a blank which it has always done. But when I LOG ON to answer Posts or Threads all the Avatar pictures have vanished? I am not worried about mine, as I said, it has always been blank, but its annoying when you cant see an Avatar picture as you get too know the contributor by a quick glance at the picture instead of the name. Give me your input on this buddy and maybe you can have a word with the Tech. Lads. Also the old problem still exists with my account as with a few others. We cannot get our Edit Profile, or the new icon Edit details up. It comes up with the same message which has been showing for a year now "Forum not Found". This means we cannot get into our settings. Maybe anouther problem the Tech. team can sort out. Overall the new board is looking good and thank god you have got rid of the LATEST NEWS Forum. That forum never had anything to do with LATEST NEWS topics and caused a lot of trouble with fans writing material to do with Fixtures&Results,Transfer Speculation,Fan Zone,Legends..........The one that has replaced  it means fans can add any material there without causing a  World War amongst themselves.YesBig Smile

To be honest buddy, I know Matt, I know Gavinio, but I have been on this WEBSITE a long time and surfed all the forums but your name sprung up as a MOD? I just cannot remember seeing your name anywhere? Even Matt said how did you become a MOD?.I know Gav. has just said before that you 3 were approached, by E-Mail, I guess, but if it was someone like Pure Football I would understand, but it is weird where you came from?. No offence buddy, I hope this board improves a lot more.......but...where did you spring from?

Just keeping an eye open for any questions or technical issues that need addressing, checking for unacceptable language or offensive posts, and moving threads posted in the wrong places. Hope that helps.

    Gavinio:

We were contacted directly by the club and invited to be part of a forum working group to work alongside the club and forum technical partner in suggesting ways in which the forums could be improved.  We made suggestions and commented on the planned changes and put forward an argument that visible moderators would help improve the forums.  We were asked if we were interested in being moderators, we said yes and that's it basically.

Now can i get my old account back? And can the *Content to be approved by Moderator* be removed in the first post of the

"Why we dont refer to our awesome club as ***"  thread please? Wink

    That would be great...Yes

    Re: Improvements Where ?

More Mods are definitely required, but they have to make sure they are the right people as in not just give it to popular posters who get their ego's inflated by eachother. Mods need to be FAIR and not just censor people and their opinions because they don't agree with them so they need to consider who the right people are.

    Answer

    sapper1:

Ok the board is a bit quicker loading, but once siggies are enabled again it will slow.

Apart from whats appeared on the RH side of the page I can see no other enhancements or improvements.

While I agree this board needs MODS, three is nowhere near enough to cover this place 24 hrs a day 365 days a year, the old TR had a team of eight or more, and they relied on a few senior posters helping out. If its a step to handing complete control back to the fans then it's a good one, but time will tell.

its a start lets look at it that way.

all i can say is rome wasnt built in a day.
