Re: To You Who Have Lost Faith In Nani

i agree. Nani is stuck on the left hand side all game long (when he does play). In my view hes a can be a great player if the coaches trust him. I feel like everytime nani gives the ball away people moan and groan and say "see he careless with the ball". Iv seen giggs do the same thing a million times, yet giggs has 1 moment of magic and people forget all the give aways and say "wow giggs what a brilliant player". Yet even when nani does something great in a game people say "well hes not consistant". I dont buy this BS about United quality and how hes not up to par. We gave players like Klaberson (sp) and Veron sooooooooo many chances. Yet we give nani 5 games and say "well he cant perform, he had his chance".  You know differant players respond differantly, nani is a confidance player. Currently hes overly cautious and scared to express himself becuase he feels no one really trusts him. So what does he do when hes overly cautious? he gives the ball away cause hes caught in two minds. The coaches need to show some confidance in him and tell him to do what we know hes capable of doing.

I think that formation is definitely worth a shot. I've always though Nani should be played as a CAM rather than a winger.

    RASTA-RUNS-RIOT:

Nani puts me on the edge of my sit, fair enough most times it doesnt come off. But that is football. Ronaldo had a better shot playing every game since he came AND PEOPLE BOOED HIM. WHY? because nobody knew when a cross was coming in etc Alan smith lost the head at him alot. Eventually he got it right with game time. Nani is only 22 by the time hes 32 id say hel be close to giggsys record Mark my words. You really think SAF would risk selling him when its clear he has potental NO CHANCE!

Well, one can't knock your loyalty, mate. I hope you're right, in the end: though honestly I don't think so. Nothing would please me more than to see Nani succeed... and just maybe, the fact Obertan is in the mix, Nani will up his game. There's nothing worng with competiton in the squad it makes players, hopefully, kick their game up a notch or three.

My lack of mentioning or featuring Nani in my swuad line up is my reply to the thread. In my opinion and a lot of people that have season tickets by me in the Stretford End feel exactly the same......He has not proved himself yet......I agree with letting him develop, but in the less important games.

Nani looks lost in so many games! Obertan provided more threat in 15-20 minutes against CSK then Nani did all the time he was on.

    Just my opinion......Huh?

Nani is a number 10 position? He cannot hold on the ball long enough and certainly doesn't have the passing ability or creativity to play in that position.

    nani wannabe:

    Play him where Portugal do

?? i doubt u watch portugal play then.. nani hardly plays and if he does its when ronaldo is out, so he plays ronaldos position on the wing. only difference is he is given a bit more freedom. their last game against malta nani was on the RW and played excellent, scoring one and coming close to 2 more. it's not a matter of where he's played because he is clearly a winger, it's just a matter of his consistency. he fades in and out of games.. maybe its a confidence issue because he isnt playing every game? who knows.. we all know he has the ability to be world class and i think he does quite well in the games he does play, he's always a constant threat beating his marker with ease and manages to create several chances and come close to scoring himself. maybe it's the fact that people expect ronaldo's standard from him (something that will probably never happen) but i think he's an overall better player than valencia.how i wish i was around these forums in ronaldos first 3years.. i bet the same things were being said

Re: To You Who Have Lost Faith In Nani

Come on! Nani is a winger, he is not creative enough to play in the middle, and doesn't see the passing lanes like carrick fletch or scholes. And if we look at him as a winger i'm quite sure he's the worst one we have now. I would rather play Welbeck, Tosic, Obertan, Valencia, Park, or even Fletch on the side. Not speaking of Ryan who is the best winger in the country now by far... I hope he will develop but so far this season, he is the worst, no question. Just take a look at the way he trapped the ball at anfield when it was still 1-0. I mean he was 22 yards from goal and he could have passed shot or even tried to dribble inside and he couldnt trap the god damn ball. Against Blackburn he didnt have a reasonable touch of the ball. Lethal shooting my A he is not there now. Hope he goes the right way

Couldn't hurt playing him in the centre. At least he won't be shown up repeatedly for his abysmal crossing.

    United & Proud:

To be honest this line up would in my opinion scare the life out of any team!

                             VDS

    Brown     Vidic             Evans      Evra

                          Hargreaves

        Obertan  Anderson/Rooney  Giggs

                                        Berbatov

                              Owen

Pace, power, ability, youth, experience, talent & genius! Come on SAF unleish the UTD beast!

    Omar Rooney_7:
Put Ando in obertan's place and Carrick in that centre you have a point

ando was tried there befor and it didnt exactly work he is better and more effective in the middle. But at the end of the day i dont think SAF will ever play Nani as a CAMSad

This is a formation I would definitely try to see if we can get the best out of Nani.  Remember that pass he set up for Michael Owens goal earlier this season?  from a CAM position and he directed Owen's run and all!!  Maybe this might be a better fit for him.....
