i agree i think our sqauds got excellent but if it came down to a striker or midfielder, i would take a creative midfielder like silva

 We need a striker that can score goals and Villa is the perfect man for that job.Also we need another midfielder aswell someone who is creative can score goals and give us more flair what about Silva.We do seem very keen on both players and with Valencia in so much debt and need to sell we can make a double offer in the region of 50-60million.Both players are worth every penny thats what we need in my opinion these two players then ourn squad will be even more stronger.

I would agree if you're talking about Silva at left wing, but I think the central midfield positions are fine. Scholes, Fletch and Anderson are all doing decent jobs plus Hargreaves is due back pretty soon. I think they can do the job well enough between them. Not very convinced by Nani yet so Silva could be a decent signing.

 err no we dont need a midfeilder u silly idiot we have some of the best mid feilders on the planet ,, anderson fletcher and hargreaves and if u dont agree about anderson then just wait,,, and carrick is good to but he jus needs to be played beside the right person

and as for wingers welll we have giggs valencia tosic obertan park nani thats a hell of a lot of competition so stop whining

lol, maybe Keano as well. and while you're at it, clones of Becks and Cantona might also be nice to have in the squad. hahaha

regarding the topic:
i think that if we need anyone, then a strong, commanding defensive midfielder is in order. we've seen that playing two creative/attacking midfielders doesn't work, as we become exposed defensively, especially on the counter. however, i think we need to wait until Hargreaves returns before making a decision on whether a new midfielder is needed, since he is the defensive type that we need.

I wholeheartedly agree, but who would that midfielder be? We can't buy lampard or gerrard, but it seems to me that the best midfielders are the ones who are "homegrown" and who have made their way through the ranks.....After this, Fletcher comes to mind, but as much as I enjoy his drive, I don't think he'll ever become of that quality (although I pray he does :))

Once a quality midfielder able do minipulate and control the play is bought, then finish our strike force!

This rumour has popped out of the mirror saying that david villa would come to united, when infact i dont think we need a striker because if he came he wouldnt be guarenteed a place in the starting 11 every week and that could lead to someone else leaving due to having not enough playing time so i think we need an ace central midfielder who can rule the midfield.. carrick doesnt seem to be as good as last year and scholes is coming to the end of his days, no-one knows how hargreaves will go on which leaves us with fletcher and anderson who are both doing brilliantly this season.. Chelsea have lampard, liverpool have gerrard and arsenal have fabregas. I would welcome david villa with open arms but i think what we need mainly is a central midfielder or someone on the left to replace giggs when hes done like david silva because really nani hasnt prooved up to his ability
