    Re: Rooney is a goon!

    AndTheRedsGoMarchingOn:

People go to work tommorow, but don't have 60.000 people behind their back expecting them to give their best.

I'd say that when you become a father, your mind isn't quite on the pitch, but Rooney showed true DEVOTION to the club. All the scenarios and the lack of appreciation for what he's done just shows your nothing but sceptics, who'll pounce on anyone just to argue without thinking about it some more.

Just admit - Wayne Rooney bleeds Red, and we're proud to have him.

P.S. Someone said to sign up his kid for Man Utd right away, couldn't stop laughing :D

Oh is that from your experience from being a father whilst playing for the world's biggest club?

Not to say it doesn't show devotion but it is true, he had the kid and played for us. We're not saying he doesn't love Manchester United we're simply saying that this doesn't prove anything either way.

And I don't think playing in front of 70,000 people made much of a difference whether he was a first time father or not. I do appreciate him playing for us, he hadn't slept much and sure he would have been emotional but I knew he'd give anything for this club any way.

Totally agree with you, at times we forget how young he is but the love and passion he has for the club is amazing, he without doubt is already a manchester united legend.

He's so passionate about Manchester United and football that even thought, even though he recently became a dad 29hrs ago, he still wants to play. He's a legend in my eyes.

Most people actully go to work the day after they become fathers when there are no complications - why Rooney should be any different?

Really, I'm sure fathers get paternity leave. Rooney wanted to be there, I'm happy for that.

I saw the pictures of them leaving the hospital yesterday and Rooney already looked bored of being a dad, his heart just didnt seem to be in it  Big Smile

If his wife was in the middle of the delivery - and he wanted to play rather than be with her - this would have been a different matter.

I dont think I would respect that much if that had happened. Hmm
