    Re: United got Lucky again?!!!

    Man_utd_forever:

Luck? Did you see the game. If CSK should have had another goalkeeper we should have scored 3-5 goals in the second half. We also deserved a penalty. This game told us to things. One that Fabio isn't good enough defensivly to play in Europe  at the moment, but he has a lot of talent so he will be a top class defender in the future. The second is that every team in Europe are strong so we need to have the right mentality. We didn't have it in the first half, but in the second half Rooney and Evra helped us to get back to the united way.

We scored last two gaols and created chances only when after taking 3 -1 lead, CSKA decided just to defend and not go farword... Had they played the way they were playing it could have been so so difficult for United to penetrate as it was in first hour or so.

In other words, we started play well when CSKA started playing against their game.

I noticed Akinfeev was very friendly towards our players, maybe he was trying to smooth the way for a potential move !

Lol I noticed that too...well we can't go wrong by signing that guy his reflexes are out of this world.

I did as well...same thought crossed my mind... He had a damn good match and would be a more than welcome addition to our squad.

I saw an interview that he gave recently and was asked about United - he projected the impression that he would love to join United.

    United got Lucky again?!!!

Can we say that in the end, Man United were very lucky to draw last night's game against CSKA Moscow.

Did Man United miss a lot of chances and could have won quite easily had our players taken their chances?

Didn't Owen, Macheda, Fletcher, Scholes and Rooney miss many scoring chances (United need good finishers).

Can you say that in the first hour or so, Man United were clueless, they were simply outclassed by Russians' one touch play and pace?

Man United were without few players but Could we say United still had (what should be said better players than CSKA Moscow, at least on papers). Was it Multinational United vs. Local Russian and didn't they make United work?

I am (like any Man Utd fan) pleased that United avoided the defeat but What would have happened if CSKA Moscow had not stopped playing attacking game they were playing in first hour or so? Were Man United given the chance to come back when CSKA Moscow decided to defend their 2 goal lead and they stopped going forward? (Rooney and Eva did make a difference for Man United though).

Was it CSKA Moscow so United did come back? (yes they can make such come backs against any side). But in Champions League can we expect to do like that again and again, against better teams like AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid etc? Will any one of these top quality teams will try to defend only?

Can it be said that Man United did not play well again and got very lucky to earn a draw? Has it been the case in almost every game so for in this season execpt from one or two games for Man United??

    Is (Owen + Valencia + Obertan = C.Ronaldo + Tevez ?)

    What do you think?

Re: obertan looks better than rooney

There's no reason to compare the two. If anything you could say obertan looks better than Nani. I believe that obertan gives United more scoring options than Nani. I really hope that he gets more playing time.

That's more like it. Yes! Yes

But, let's face it. Nani also showed the same prospect, like Obertan, when we signed him. He would lift up Man Utd supporters from their seats while he was playing his first few matches.

But we very well know what the situation is right now with so many people calling for Nani's head after so many unconvincing performances.

I would prefer not jump to conclusions too soon as to who is better than who.

upfront, we really did good...but the defence needs to tighten up...we needed vidic in that game...n the ref should acknowledge he made a mistake as it was a clear penalty....but overall we need to improve our allround game ...as chelsea wont give us that much space and can definately score goals...

Re: Analysis of Akinfeev, Macheda, and Obertan vs. Nani

Akinfeev was brilliant tonite. I really hope we make every attempt to sign him in the near future. Foster has never show alot of confidence in his abilities and seems to *** himself at the sight of a decent opponent. Akinfeev was playing the best team in the world and never looked rattled. Kudos to him. I have to disagree with the lot of you about Macheda. While he had a few flashes of brilliance, he also seemed to disappear for large portions of the game. At one point I actually forgot he was out there. Once he figures out how to get into the game a little bit more he will be pure class. He is only 18, by the time hes 22 he will be banging in 25-30 goals a year on a regular basis. Now on to Obertan v. Nani. I have always been a fan on Nani and i wont slate him, unlike a lot of people on here. Nani could be brilliant in the future but we need him to step up now. If he doesnt do that, maybe its time to go in a different direction. Obertan made a huge impact as soon as he stepped on the pitch. This being only his 2nd first team game. I was very impressed with him and look forward to what he can add to our great team.

    Re: Post match thoughts...

The first 50 minutes i could forget , but after it was game on. Fantastic comback, great to watch, we should have nicked it in the end. not a bad result though, we're through and most likely qualify on top of the group. Agree about Nani, sad, but he's not improving. Obertan looks like a great prospect, very quick. Macheda didn't do bad. Owen should impove.

    Glory Glory Man United!

I don't think even Rooney was supposed to be playing in this game but i think you're getting yourself ahead about Obertan being better than Rooney in this game.

I thought it was a very good game.  Yea, there were a few players not playing their greatest, but overall, a good open game.  We had some really good chances on goal, that just went wide or hit the post.  We just let in some easy goals, which is unusual for us.  Overall, a good, inspired game.
