give him 90 minutes against everton/wolfsburg and he will show what he can do.. i think by the end of the season.. he will score 15+ goals

    united until i die!!!!!!!!!!:

Also Owen's goals to minutes played ratio is fantastic, among the best in the country, only behind Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba. Made even more incredible when we consider that Owen hasn't hit top form yet, he is a man who usualy scores every chance he gets, just wait until he settles in at United, the nerves stop and he become the ultimate goal poacher again.

Now that's a meaningful piece of statistics. But some people never learn, Owen will do us good (and he's off to an excellent start), and they'll come with "I knew that" attitude.

owen score 4 goals in 6 games.. roo 7-8 goals in 12 games.. berbatov 4 goals in 11 games..... not a bad statistic for a free transfer striker.. against man city- 1 chance 1goal.. against barnsley 2 chances 1 goal.. against  wigan 2 chances 1 goal.. against cska 4 chances 1 goal...  i bet you he will score when we face everton at OT

Grow some! Owen was pathetic! Missed 2 clear chances that a parapelegic could have finished before he got his goal, offside a few times, bad runs (among some good ones too). He is not United quality, that number 7 on his back is a sham! This is not based on one performance before you think i'm a glory hunter, ive said it since he started.

So, no one else missed chances last night?  I bet you don't say the same thing when Rooney misses chances, as he does a lot of times, so does Berba and most strikers.

I'ts different with Michael Owen though, its not just one game, its every game... He misses clear cut chances then scores and it paves over the cracks... It was abit harsh calling him pathetic and saying the number 7 on his back is a sham, but to be honest, Rooney and Berbatov bring more to the game than sitting on the shoulder of the last defender and picking up the pieces, and i have no problem with either of them, nor any of our other players, but Owen just seems to annoy me. Gone are the days you have to be world class to play for Man Utd

I think Macheda was the best of our strikers last night. Micheal didn't run as good as usual. He scored a goal, but he should have scored more because he had chances.

i knew that owen has lost a yard or 2 of pace but even his finishing is not as good as it once was, the fact that he mis-kicked the ball at the first chance and kind of scuffed the second chance shows to me that he is not owen of old and i am not just basing his finishing on just this one game, all season he has wasted chances that used to score when he was at his best.

i can't see cappello picking him for the world cup.

Ok he wasn't that bad!! He scored a goal too you know... only our defending was what you could call pathetic. N I was a bit upset when he was given 7 too, but its only temporary and at the end of the day its just a number! you might not be a glory-hunter but you are a bit too emotional and silly at it too...

Owen is doing fine and you can't ask to him to do too much. As the title of this thread says those were his first 90 minutes, so hes still a new man in the block and to dismiss him like that is really naiive n stupid!

    BELIEVE!

your attitude is the same as those spastics who slate berba all the time. you fail to show how his performance was affected by the players around him. to be honest, our offense wasn exactly clicking for a while and thats been hurting us this season. it's that final ball. the fact that you said a parapelegic could have scored those goals shows your ignorance.  my advice to you, dont make such knee jerk reactions. we've seen his quality and for you to say that him being a number 7 is a sham is appauling. he got us back level yesterday and scored that ever important goal in the manchester derby. ill admit he hasn been great but he's not pathetic as you say. if that was true, then he wouldn have scored any goals by now

Frankly, I'm not as upbeat as some nor am I as downbeat as JACKMUFC. Owen did well lasting the 90 minutes... my attitude is wait and see: one match doesn't make or break any player.
