    Re: Nani...vs obertan

spot on Shanon, ive been closely watching what our nu buys bring to the squad and i think obertan is the best of the lot. he has a wonderful read of the game, just take a look at his contribution when he comes on, unlike Nani, he has very good link up play with other players, evra especially (the new Beckham-Neville connection maybe?..hmm =) ).

Nani's very talented but i feel obertans intelligence gives him the edge, if the gaffer gives him more first team appeaances he will (jst like ronaldo and evans)gain confidence and he could become one gem of a player for us.

With the trio of vidam giggsy and berba set to return, i hope the gaffer has noticed his contribution and rewards him with at least a place on the bench....OBERTAN AGAINST CHELSEA, ITS WAAY BETTER FOR THE "TEAM"

Shannon speaks some sense there when you think about it.....

    I always do.

It's not just his final ball. Firstly, it takes a good footballer to realize that if they do the same thing 3 times and it doesn't work then maybe they should try something else.

He quite literally has no team-sense. It's not just about crosses, it's about when to shoot, when to pass...where to pass...looking for space etc.

Comparisons between him and Ronaldo aren't welcome. Besides the fancy tricks and skills their playing styles and attributes aren't the same. Also, the team doesn't revolve around Nani, hence trying to emulate Ronaldo won't work. If he wants to do that then i suggest he find another club, to stay he has to earn his place on the wing and so far he hasn't been.

I don't think he did too bad tonite.
but you can see the rest of the Utd team no really expecting much from him when he receives the ball on the wing.
It's like they are waiting for him to make a wrong pass or get double teamed and loss the ball.

But I think he did ok (nothing great - just average)

it's just the final ball that lets him down. Both the words 'unlucky' and 'stupidity' pop into my head.

I would go in for 'frustrating'. It really gets me up to see someone talented, just throwing away all those chances.

May today be better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow

I think people fail to realise that he got an ASSIST this evening!! He was the one who provided Owen's goal which momentarily brought us level.

He did loose the ball alot but then he had some good moments of link up play too.

I would give him a 6/10 for his performance against CSKA. IMO I think he does bring some value to the club and should not be sold, he just needs a bit more confidence and to improve his decision making.

Im sorry but to call miscontrol an asisst is outrageous!

Watch the goal again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USPlLvWmhws hopefully youtube haven't deleted it, at around the 1:40 mark. It was a clever backheel, give the guy some credit even Owen shows him some appreciation!

    Constructive post.

Very talented, but no football brain. With the right coaching and development of coarse he could become an important player for us. Hopefully he will improve with maturity. Personally, I can't form an opinion on him. He does everything right. .  it's just the final ball that lets him down. Both the words 'unlucky' and 'stupidity' pop into my head.

I can remember some of the match of the day pannel and other pundits suggesting Ronaldo's final ball let him down when he first came to United but look how he developed. Let's not forget that Nani hasn't been a first choice winger because Ronaldo, Giggs and even Park to an extent kept him out last season. Lets give him a good run in the team and see how he develops, I've already seen improvements this season such as looking for the pass instead of dwelling on the ball which was his worst problem last season

Im sorry but to call miscontrol an asisst is outrageous! He's is unbelievably poor, 1 out of ten crosses will reach our man and he'll make a good decision on 1 out of 10 occasions. SAF has given him so many chances, he (nani) always says how he will prove his worth but we cannot keep carrying im every game, he is proving nothing but he is not good enough. I seriously do not understand how any utd fan can still stick up for him. . . we should still stick behind him when he's playing but the sooner he is sold/loaned the better.

    Re: Nani...

Nani is alright, but thats about it. He's nothing special although he could be. He's having plently of opertunity on the pitch and really isn't taking any of them. I wouldn't say get rid of him but i think thats what will happen. I'd say loan him out, if thats possible.

The trouble is we have alot better wingers who are taking their oppertunities. Valencia for example. He is miles ahead of Nani.
Nani could be great. Just not at Man Utd.

    Nani...

What are everyones views on Nani? Personally i feel he is a talent which has hardly developed since joining the club and probably won't go any further with us last season he tried to copy Ronaldo's every move on the pitch and i suggest he should do the same off the pitch too by moving on to another club! Tonight's performance against CSKA showed again he is useless and not good enough for our squad! he isn't even a good enough player to bring off the bench anymore as he always seems ineffective in all situations this season! SAF get rid of him!
