Re: predict the successor of SIR ALEX FERGUSSON??

To be honest I would quite like to see Laurent Blanc given a chance. He has worked wonders at Bordeaux, and has used an attractive, attacking style of football to break the monopoly created by Lyon over the past 6-7 years. The fact that he is still young and so has not been thrust into the media spotlight over here also strikes me as a good thing, since he wouldn't have much of a name to live up to and could do his own thing.

Jose Mourinho or Fabio Capello. Two great coaches. I think we would have a better chance of winning the PL and CL trophies with Fabio Capello. Looking at Jose Mourinho's record, we would win the PL every year but maybe not the Champions league.

At this time it is really hard to predict who will succeed sir ALEX coz it is too early.

When time comes one of legends will do so

Jose Mourinho on my mind, lots of experience...Barca, Porto, Chelsea & Inter Milan...his cv alone can proven to be a great successor to SAF.

Jose Mourinho, no one else would be good enough!  My personal choice would be Arsene, but that's a definite no no.

Re: predict the successor of SIR ALEX FERGUSSON??

guys, picking a successor for SAF is like picking the next POPE! take alot of things in  consideration and dont just pick MOURINHO staright away. yes he is someone capable of it but is he loyal? will he be loyal? does he have a stature of SAF? the behaviour and Gentleman like or Father-like stature??? if u check united's history, we ahve been handle by coaches from England, SCOTLAND or BRitain.

    Things to consider:

His Loyalty and knowledge of the history of the team.

His involvement and interest in the club.

His professionalism and dignity as a person.

etc etc etc.. so we are looking at coaches who jsut dont switch teams to teams. We need a Manager who will give confidence and stability to the club.

Morurinho is very qual;ified interms of success but i dont see him as UNITED MANGERs. The only managers i foresee are possibly ONEIL, STEVE BRUCE, MARK HUGHES, CAPELLO, SOLSKJAER, QUIROZ and DAVID MOYEs.

now lets eliminate and categorize them.

MARK HUGHES - he's a good manager but somehow he has been backed up by huge money transfers and yet the result is contradicting for the team. yes maybe CITY now is in a healthy position by HUGHES but i doubt he has the consistency that UNITED should have.

SOLSKJAER - is an apprentice of SAF and thats what i can see from him but he still has ways to go to achieve such position but if SAF does leave he should be our junior MANager(like an assistnat coach).

STEVE BRUCE - has a very outstanding talent interms of spotting good buys or players available and is very familiar with the EPL and has shown that given a decent staff and funds he can make a team above mediocre quality. He has used Bent wisely in his team and also has a talent to spot the right player for the right position. And for me i think Bruce has the quality to be the next manager.

MARTIN ONEIL and DAVID MOYES - these 2 men are the people who i have high regards to and i commend their work in their current team. they have given theior team the balance and progress needed for such a squad with good players. Its just a matter of time and experience that these 2 needs in order to push their team, to CHMAPIONS LEAGUE level and from there on they will be anywhere near the top four. With MOYES, he has the mentality of Arsene wneger and SAF when it comes to upbringing young talents and these very instrumental to being one of united MANAGERS. Moyes showed everyone that he loves players who play for united getting players like Neville, Saha, etc. Moyes cannot be underestimated when it comes to transfer windows. Remember Fellaini, No one new about this guy but then he is a great buy. For Oneil, the only flaws in his personal attribute is his temper. He has been involved many times with Verbal offence on referees and opposition players but this is also a good sign of his passion for his team, he fights for his team, and ths a positive in a way. ONEIL is a mix of MOYES and BRUCE interms of holding on players and building young talents. He has held onnto his young guns like Young and Agbonlahor cos he knows these players are GEMS in the making and he has balanced his team by getting JOHN Carew and this gives them experience. What we like about these two managers is that they will give the young talents more chance and surely will lead teams to long-term success and development. These managers are managers who are infavor of influencing talents in briatain especially in england so that will be one thing to look positive at. Disadvantage? well these two managers seems to do poorly in EUROPE but it stil unfair to judge them by recent Performances cos everything in aston villa and everton is still in a long way of progress and they are getting there.

    QUEROZ

He has given united many success including the UCL triumph in 2008. He was the man who influenced SAF and UNITED to buy players like DA Silva brothers, Anderson, Possebon, Tosic, Ljajic, NANI, RONALDO, Hargreaves and more. But ofcors i wont get ahead of myself and say he is the only reason why we were so triumphant those periods of time. With SAF's decision he was given the indirect credit but dotn get too excited cos his international reputation is not in good colours. And that worries me abit. Maybe he has the ultimate gift in scouting players and is a good tactician but its hard to picture him coming back to united as MANAGER but would prefer him to be assistant rather.

    CAPELLO

SAF has shown no secret of his close friendship with this guy and has made press to specualte that he may be the next UNITED manager or even a successor of UNITED. MAYBE?? i dont know.. he has what it takes to be a top MANAGER in terms of CLUB football. He showed in ENGLAND that no matter who he coaches he has the passion and professionalism any manager can have. His italian, and it will eb unsual but in contrary to our history, he can be our manager. No one can tell but he is on top of the list that SURELY would be very very qualified and will bring UNITED players stability and discipline when SAF leaves. If he does become our MANAGER, i have no qualms on that but we need to have either OLE or MIKE PHELAN OR MAULESTEEN as our assistant MANAGER to give him all the familiarity to the clubs hisory and TACTICS.

i really dont have a clear cut choice but one of my top contenders would be BRUCE, CAPELLO, MOYES and ONEIL.

    VIOLLET10:

Jose Mourinho - Would be great initially- but would he stay long term? Great experience, knows the Premier League and has success in Europe. Also commented that If SAF wanted him - He would come.

Carlos Queiroz - Former Assistant to SAF - Had a poor career with Madrid losing 14 games from 59, has had better success with Portugal lately but no proven success.

David Moyes - Fiery scot that has taken Everton as far as he can. However has not won anything as a manager apart from Second Division with Preston. Also has little experience in Europe.

Louis van Gaal - Has admitted an interest in replacing SAF. Has managed the biggest clubs across Europe, however has not got off to the best of starts at Bayern Munich as they are stuggling to qualify from their champions league group.

Also mentioned - Steve Bruce, Roy Keane, Martin O'Neill & Darren Ferguson - However none of those would have the experience or abilty to hack managing at a club that is seriously contending the Champions League & Premiership year on year.

i agree with pretty much everything you have said mate...but would like to throw in a couple of names into the mix too...cantonna,blanc and ole....especially ole seems someone who can really succeed...and i  think the time fergi is at the club it would be an awesome thing if he takes ole under his wing....rather than just letting him manage reserves.....cause the best manager in the world teaching him the tricks of the trade would make for a great work

i say jose mourinho coz he has proven himself n he coached in the EPL n won it n in the CL n won it......n also sayed many times that he wants to get back to the EPL coz the standards r higher n the passion is more than any league in the world.....so i wouldnt be suprised if it was him who will continue SAF great work!!!!!!!

I say Pep Guardiola. He will bring winning and attractive football to Man Utd. In couple of season of winning in Barcelona, he may want to try English. Once he manage Barcelona, I think there will be no other clubs in Spain that is big enough for him. Or maybe knocking out of champion league and finishing out of top 4 may cut short his career in Barcelona. I believe he will improve our team. Jose Mourinho is good, but all his team doesn't play with flair.

One name that quickly comes to my mind is Mourinho. He has the ideal profile of the candidate to succeed to Sir Alex.

    He's passionate about the game.

    He commands respect.

    He ALWAYS defend his players.

He is ARROGANT (some may see this is as a negative attribute but I for one think that it helps)

He always get the best out of his players.

He is a real professional that adapt his teams and formations according to his opponents.

    ...etc etc etc!!!

    GGMU!

I would like Mourinho, but not  sure of his loyalty.

    My preference

    1. Wenger

    2. Moyes

    3. Mourinho

    4. O'Neill
