    Tiborg:

One of the reasons why i started to watch EPL and United was the history of the league and clubs.I'm not talking only about Manchester United but let's say Tottenham,Villa,Newcastle.....I was amazed with the stadium atmosheres in the early 90's.Everything was different in English stadiums comparing to the rest of the Europe. But now things are very worrying. It seems like everything is about money these days and football has changed a lot.First they made the stadiums all seaters, after that slowly we have more foreign players in the league then British and now this stadium renaiming.Obviously football is not going to the right way and i'm already missing the good old-fashioned British football.I hope things will change but to be honest i don't see the end of this money grabbing system that is now so much present in football.....

I totally feel the same way Tibrog ... One of the reasons I started watching english football was its tradition and the amazing atmospheres... Now one of the main thing that attracted english football lovers from all over the globe is being distorted and ruined by the money-grabbing owners!! I won't stop watching United, but I doubt if the next generation of overseas football fans will follow english football that closely as we do... I see some of the Cantona classics and Im astounded by the kinda atmospheres Old Trafford used to have; truly special! It saddens me that we don't have that element at home games now (on rare occasions we do, but the big games are only a few compared to the whole season)... but the way its going, it seems its only gonna get worse!!

[Omar - I've warned you in a few threads now about using swearing in your posts.  I'm giving you one more warning now.  If I see another post that contains swearing or an attempt to avoid the swear filter I will consider banning you.  Please don't let it come to that.  You have been given enough chances.  You can get your point across by not swearing  - many other posters manage it and if they can then you can I am sure.  Thank you.  Gavinio]

i think i'll always call it just St James' Park to be honest, its just wrong not to!

Fans of any club will call it St James' Park, but imagine the agony and embarassment the Toonies feel now... I feel so bad for them. Just won't stand if something like this ever happens to us...

And those who are mentioning Emirates Stadium, JJB, KC and all... atleast there is no other name attatched to it. I mean names like Old Trafford, St James' Park, and even Anfield have all the history inscripted behind their names... Distorting with such names is like disgracing whatever it stood for or what it meant to the fans... In a way the arsenal fans are unfortunate to have their stadium name this way (regardless of the profits), in 30 years time it would be called something else, just takes away the...pride n attatchement to the place you can call your home. But still I'd prefer the name Phillips stadium to goal.com @ Craven Cottage!!

    need i say anymore?

it almost makes the Walkers Stadium and Ricoh Arena feel like traditional stadium names...

since i know that you're a proud FC United supporter, i'm not surprised that you would feel outraged about something like this, and i 100% agree with you! it's sad enough that teams can often be identified by the sponsors logo on their shirt, but this is just too far!

LoL bit of a difference isnt it really....gotta feel for the Geordies, thought they were getting Shearer as Manager they got Joe Kinnear they then thought Ant and Dec would be made into a statue in Newcastle they got Angel of the north and now there hunting ground St James Park (one of the best grounds in the country) gets its name changed by a fat southern f.airy who has no idea of how to run a football club or indeed just to run at all....

In a few years' time he'll turn it into a pub.

I reckon he may have to learn how to run - and fast!!!

any ideas for my next blog?

If you've seen Obertan in his brief appearances with the first team, maybe thoughts on where Nani's future lies, because at the moment he's not even Obertan's level.

Also, there have been suggestions that Anderson is proving to be the heir to Scholes not only in theory but in evidence from a few recent helpful performances. I disagree and still think we need to bring in someone else to fill the huge gap that Scholes will leave when he's done, and finding that someone will not be easy. Anderson is a different player I think.

    Thoughts?

I'll look into it mate, might even get two done!

    Cheers mate, it's only suggestions.

You write really well on these and it makes for good reading.

well a decent style of writing has to be of some use!

i'm surprised you don't write blogs, judging from three paragraphs you write as well as i do and i'm sure one of your blogs would be a good read

feel free to use my blog page if you wish

Cheers Ingham, top lad you are there.

I'll do that sometime when I'm in the mood and can concentrate enough for it to make sense. When I write from the heart the words flow, but when I try something more formal it could take a while Big Smile

you could do something on one of the legends myself and a few others have been putting some legend profiles in the legend section have a look at them you may get some inspiration,

although I must admit I haven't done one for a few day but only because I am in the process of setting up a Manchester United Legends website which is a bit harder than I thought it would be, I have only got to write and get information about another 50 players for me to have a decent base to start the site from,

plus anyone who wants to offer any help are more than welcome
