Rodwell would be great. Hopefully we can beef up Johnny Evans a little and he'll be awesome for years to come. Saying David Villa and David Silva in the same sentence with United gives me goosebumps! I really hope that Fergie will make it a reality.

I sure hope so mate.. we played a great match against chelsea today but it's not enough if we can't put our chances or create something special. You could see how lonely rooney was up there today, we shouldn't have to adapt to chelsea's team... We should be able to run circles around them, fair enough we're not in our greatest form atm but we need to be soon if we're going to have a chance. If we bring in a goalscorer / playmaker in january then we've got this I believe.

PS: i'll give the ref in the chelsea match a discount on glasses at specsavers... for *** sake man move a little bit so you can see what's going on...

and ashley cole should have been booked for what he did to fletcher. ridiculous!

It wont happen but i'd love to see us go out and buy gourcuff, silva and villa (maybe akinfeev/neuer/adler too), enough of this 'our team is good enough to compete' nonsense, we need to be more than good enough, i'm a berbatov fan too though so I could live without villa (not much resale there either). a midfiled of

    Silva              Gourcuff/Ando            Fletch/Hargo      Valencia/Obertan

would make me happy, and it would be as good as chelsea and madrid's, maybe even barca.

P.s. I do understand there are large finacial mplications to this but we do have to replace a certain #7 a bit better than we have done and there is plenty of money from his transfer to do it with

P.p.s. Maybe Rodwell as a Rio successor too

Totally agree, it's not like we're going to buy a whole new team like chelsea, manchester city & real madrid. Just in the position we really need to strengthen, a wing that can perform at highest level. We are the best team in the world, even though Barcelona snatched our champions title. Gourcuff is excellent but we allready have allot of players in that position. When Heargreaves returns we're sorted there.

    Winci:

I we are going to sign a player, be it in january or during the summer, winger and GK are the only 2 positions we could arguably need more depth. We got a great set of striker in Rooney, Berba and Owen, with Macheda and Welbeck itching for opportunities.

The CM position is very deep, I mean SAF must have nightmares figuring how to give consistent playing time to Ando, Scholes, Giggs, Fletch, Carrick and Hargo, and we also got youngsters like Possebon, Cleverly, Akrem, Gibson and Ljajic (who looks very promising as a creative mid).

We are set at fullback, Evra is arguably the best LB in the world, Neville, Oshea, Brown are solid and the twins Rafael and Fabio look as promising as any other 18 year old fullback out there.

At CB we got one of the best pair in the wolrd with Vidic and Rio (It's a pity his injuries have affected his form this season) Evans is playing very well and Oshea and Brown are very solid also.

So GK and Wingers are where we have a little bit of trouble. Van der sar might retire after this season or the next, Foster and Kuschack (spelling) have look good but they have been very inconsistent, so we could go after a GK like Akinfeev, or wait untill Foster or Kuschack become more consistent.

On the Wings, Valencia has been playing very well, Park is very consistent and a very good all around player, but he doesnt pose a threat to opponents, Nani got all the talent in the world, but he hasn't been to play to his potential, he is still very younf thou, and then we've got Obertan and Tosic, both look like very good players, Obertan is very talented, he's played well in his few games and he looks like he could go on to become one of the best players in the world, as for Tosic, he is also very talented but his only problem seems to be he is not strong enough for league. So maybe signing Silva or Di Maria would be a great piece of bussines for us.

yup if VDS retires after this season we'll have to look after someone able to fill his spot. Akinfeev is a promising keeper but we have that in Foster, even though he's playing regularly for CSKA and seems pretty consistant. Neuer and Adler are both on the top of my list, they've proven how good they are.

Seeing as Bayern is in a bit of a mess atm i'm hoping they'll be forced to sell Ribery to us Devil good replacement for Giggs on a long term basis, it might happen next summer. I like Bayern but i'm praying they'll end up far down the table lol. Silva allso would be great

We allready have 3 strikers so in order to get Villa we would have to sell Owen or Berbatov and I don't see that happening. Maybe in the summer if Owen doesn't perform

I hope Fergie signs both Villa and Silva now that Valencia admit that they have to sell wheres before they asked stupid prices but now cause they need the cash we could get them for much cheaper around 30-35million for Villa and around 20-25million for Silva and we can easily afford both players Fergie is very keen on both players whether we sign them or not i dont know i hope we do as these two players can only make us stronger and improve us.

We lack a goalscorer thats where Villa comes in while Silva will provide more creavity flair width into our midfield plus we can score goals aswell which our midfield lacks so both these players are must signings for us in my opinion. We should make these two players our main piority either in January or next summer.

This would be my team with these two players.

                                VDS

            Rafael            Ferdinand         Vidic         Evra

                        Carrick/Fletcher          Anderson

             Valencia                                                Silva

                              Rooney

                                                Villa

Subs  Foster  Owen  Berbatov  Hargreaves  Carrick/Fletcher  Giggs  O'Shea

I think thats a perfect line up and it could happen

I know the prices was ridiculous for the hottest players on the market, and it probably was smart not to buy at the time but in january we need to consider if we actually are okay with what we have or if some of that money has to be spent to get us through the tight schedule in the league and CL.

Just imagine how much moneys lost if we should loose, and all the money lost on for example Ronaldo shirts alone. Sometimes you got to spend money to make money.

I don't hate Nani but in big games in europe, both him and Valencia don't have that little extra it takes to separate the great players from the top class. So many times have I watched Nani take that little extra dribble too many and end up facing a wall. We can't rely on Giggs staying fit and do all the buisness forever.

Sorry if I sound pessimistic, I do believe in our players but sometimes they just don't quite deliver the goods like a top class winger would. And that does make a huge diffrence, especially on the big stage in Europe.

I'm sure Sir Alex has a plan, we'll just have to wait n' see.

I can see were you are coming from. With Ronaldo he could do someting special at any moment. He it even shows how much Real Madrid miss him. We need to spend, though do we still have the money to spend. The Glazers have brought Manchester United into debtso we may not have much to spend. If we were to get Villa and Silva we would have 3 or 4 players would could do something special (Rooney, Berbatov, Villa and Silva). We do not need to spend to make. A lot of people would buy Villa and Silva shirts and banners.

Hope we get them. I could see this as the Manchester team.

                                                                                     Akinfeev

          Rafael                                      Vidic                                                Rio/Evans                                Evra

                                                                             Hargreaves/Fletcher

     Valencia                                                                                          Anderson                                        Silva

                                                                                   Rooney

                                                                                                   Villa

That could give us a good chance in Europe

i don't think that silva and villa both cannot play...remember diarra and huntelaar last year only one of them could play for madrid.
