Re: david seaman: foster should be no 1

I personally would be terrified as an England fan if Foster was our number 1 in SA. He's shown that he makes mistakes under pressure and there is no environment more pressured that a World Cup game as an England keeper. Experience all the way - David James knows what he's doing. He might not be the strongest element of the team but Englandare facing a real shortage so we have to make do with what we have.

    ya,i'm agree with you.

there are another talented keeper in the future too, also one of the player in MAN UTD--Ben Amos~

Ben Foster and Ben Amos will be the no.1 or reserve keeper in the future~~

    foster should be no.1 goalkeeper~

but as we know,a keeper can't make sure that he can never make mistake everytime.

a keeper might make mistake sometime .

    when a keeper make a mistake,it doesn't mean he'LL make mistake forever~is that so?

anyway foster is a good keeper.especially his strong right hand.

    aen21:

i juz read in a football magazine in my country.... seaman want foster to be no 1 for england in WC 2010... seaman said "foster is better than green, james n robinson... he has great experience because he is a manchester united player.. he play in CL so i dont think there are any english goalkeeper is better than him"

what do you think??? i think green is better

Seaman's good intention checks, but not his arguments...

being a Man Utd player doesn't automatically make you national team material

he had been playing often (in Champions League also) because Van der Sar was injured, now...well

Foster is a great keeper. I can see him as our first keeper in the future. He just have to stop making easy misstakes.

Foster has the capability to be England's and United's no 1 after Eddy retires but first, there are certain traits which he has to eliminate from his game.

maybe in time, but foster has to become more consistant and knowing when to deal with crosses at the right time.

god knows how many more goals we would have conceded over the past 3 or 4 games if foster was in goal, there so many keepers out there that are younger than foster and already better than him and just coz seaman says foster is england's best keeper doesn't say much when you think of the other keepers fighting for that spot.

Shouldn't be number one for Man Utd... for England?? Just because he's played in the Champions League that doesn't make him any better than the rest. It's about the ability, not the competitions.

VDS shouldn't pose too much of a problem in the long term. I think this will be his last season.

Re: david seaman: foster should be no 1

I think Foster truly could become a United and England great. I don't know why people think Fergie likes him because he is English. Fergie is Scottish and has no interest in using the Utd squad as a training ground for the England team. And you could hardly say he is doing it to appease the English fans, because the English fans seem to give Foster nothing but stick.

Fergie has observed day in day out two of the all time goalkeeping greats (Schmeichel and VDS, neither of whom were English).

He is clearly seeing similar things day in day out from Foster. Obviously Foster has failed to truly compose himself in the Premier League thus far, but once he has a good run I think he'll be unbeatable.

I can see no other reason why Fergie would put Foster ahead of Kuszczak, who is a great goalkeeper in his own right.
