    Re: My shortlist (possibilities)

Di Maria is totally different to Silva and I would be hppy to get Silva but after seeing him against Everton I would prefer Di Maria. He is more skillful, scores more and a better crosser, Silva is more of a passer. Around £18m.

Hamsik brings us goals from midfield too and I think this is something we need. He has scored 7 in 11 for Napoli and at 22 he is still young. Chelsea want him as a replacement for Lampard, I would like to see him here. Around £15m.

Maicon is older and maybe even more expensive than those I have mentioned but I think he is worth it, experienced defenders are usually better anyway and he is great in attack. The best right-back in the world must be worth it. We have a few fullbacks already but O'Shea, Brown and Neville do not compare and Rafael is inexperienced and needs a few more years. Around £20m.

Cahill is not an improvement on who we have got in Ferdinand, Vidic or Evans but we are being stretched to the limit by injuries and it would be very handy to get this player as a backup and he has a lot of potential; a future England player. We are buying a long-term replacement for Ferdinand/Vidic and cover all in one which to me is worth it. Around £12m.

These would cost approximately £65m. I think these should be our buys in January. 3 are not cup-tied and dont play in the champions league and would likely want to come to a big club so it wouldnt be that hard to convince them, Maicon might be hard to persuade so hopefully wewill get him and if not Im sure he would come next summer. I havent said about a striker because Fabiano would be free in the summer and we should consider our options then. We will also need a keeper in the summer which is out of Cesar, Akinfeev and Neuer for me.

We just need Silva and Villa. A keeper can wait til the summer. but we really need Silva and Villa before the end of the season.

    Re: My shortlist (possibilities)

tim cahill is good but i just dont think he would fit in.

henry hasnt been good and it sounds like he is going to america.

etoo wouldnt be allowed to leave he is doing well in italy.

defoe is too similiar to owen.

huntelaar isnt doing well for milan and i dont think he is good enough.

villa would be very expensive and we could get fabiano free next season and he is small. one of the best strikers around still.

aguero is small and expensive too but he is younger.

aguero or villa for me, but if we wait it would be a fantastic deal to get fabiano.

    Re: My shortlist (possibilities)

    my short list.........

The CSKA goalkeeper would be a great addition to utd

    Bolton's Gary Cahill

Everton's Tim Cahill and Villa's Ashley Young (waving goodbye to nani)

We defo need a striker! David Villa would be my 1st choice but i think real madrid or barca are his next destination so i would choose either:-

    Jermain Defoe

    Samual Eto'o

    Thierry Henry

Klass Jan Hunterlaar.................any one of these 4 would fit into utd's play well

    WHAT YOU GUYS THINK????

     My list of possabilities

Goalkeepers(if VDS retires Akinfeev Neuer Asenjo Lopez either one of these would be good replacements for VDS

Villa and Silva as a double swoop

Cahill to give us more options in defence

And Rodwell as a future signing

We dont need the likes of Gourcuff etc as we have enough options in our midfield.

Also i think signing both Villa and Silva must be our main signings either in January or next summer.

    Re: My shortlist (possibilities)

Di Maria and Hamsik I want in January. Maicon, a goalkeeper and a striker in the summer. Cahill as backup. Costa in the future. I have just posted the realistic targets who we have been linked with not everybody I want because I definitely dont want some of them. Chelsea are now going to spend a fortune, do you really think we can cope with them if they get players like Pato, Aguero, Hamsik, Ribery etc. They already have a team equal to ours if not better. When playing teams like Liverpool and Chelsea we are at time forced to play 3 in the middle because we do not have the strength. We dont have creativity or a goal threat from the midfield, Hamsik would bring that, after watching Di Maria he is a proper, skillful winger which is what we need as well. If we get these I think we have the strength in midfield, if we get a striker or Maicon as well that is a bonus and we will be in the running for the title. Next season we are going to need a goalkeeper, it is clear to see Foster cannot be no.1 and van der Sar will retire. If he doesnt retire then I will be very happy and we wont need a keeper but I think he will. Cahill I ask for as cover because we have so many injuries and although Evans can replace Ferdinand ell it is not the same when we have Brown and Evans in defence. We conceded 3 against CSKA, not exactly a great team. Their best player was their goalkeeper. Players like Costa are for the future. A striker because Fergie likes 4 and we have 3 world-class and 2 for the future, but not now. I would sell Carrick, Nani, Foster and Tosic. I think I have a good reason for wanting them all.

BigRooney is obviously not a fan of United, he just wants to take his FIFA or FM all star team and post about it.

I think we need a goalscoring midfielder like Hamsik and a skillful winger like Di Maria most.

Maicon is also a must in the summer for me.

    Re: My shortlist (possibilities)

I think we will get a keeper this year or next year. I read somewhere we have opened talks with Akinfeev and he really wants to come here.

Maicon is one of the best RWB. I think we should get Cahill because of the FA wanting every club to have 6 home grown players on a team (please correct me if I am wrong).

I hope we get Silva and Villa because we will have a lot more attacking options and would score more goals and other players would get some confidence ie. Carrick & Nani.

If we get Fabiano on the free that would be brilliant signing because if a game is not going are way or we are playing a small team Silva could hit him with some crosses.

    Re: My shortlist (possibilities)

My choices for positions would be Cesar, Cahill, Maicon, Hamsik and Di Maria. I wouldnt mind out of Villa, Aguero and Dzeko, next season we could get Fabiano for free though and that might be the best deal. Neuer or Akinfeev are also good if we dont get Cesar. I wouldnt pay more than £20m for Cesar, £15m for Akinfeev or £10m for Neuer. Cahill is good cover I think and has good potential, a future England player, this or next season he would be a good buy under £15m. Maicon is the best right back and would be a great buy for around £20m. Hamsik brings us goals and creativity and would be an excellent buy, £15-20m is a good deal, I would go for Costa too though because he will be great. Di Maria is my choice for the left although Young or Silva would be good. Silva is more an attacking mid whereas Di Maria is an orthodox winger, he is ahead of Young because he is younger and left footed. £15m at least but anything up to £25m is good. Wouldnt pay more than £30m for any striker because at the end of the season Fabiano is available for free.

Out of these my top targets this season would be younger players (Costa, Feghouli), as well as Hamsik or Di Maria, or both, at the end of the season get a goalkeeper,Cahill, Maicon and a striker.

    Possible goalkeepers: Akinfeev, Neuer

your list is far too extensive... the best MD i would choose is Gourcouff

Then silva and villa as a double swoop

fabiano would be a bargain (for free next summer) if villa is seen as too old even though he is class

(hazard, neymar da silva and alexis sanchez future signings)
