I'm completely against this idea. 

And anyway, what makes them so special that they should be allowed to come straight into the Premier League? IF they come over into the English leagues they should start at the very bottom and work their way up. That's what any newly formed team has to do! Look at Wmbledon for example, when they became MK Dons they had to start at the bottom and work their way up, they didn't just expect to be put where Wimbledon finished.

Anyway it's the ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE. They do have their own league which i'm sure they love winning every year anyway. Tbh i don't they could hack it at all in the EPL, they're very average.

 Just a point on distance that the Portsmouth fans.. (if they stay in the Prem ) Portsmouth to Glasgow 445 miles. So on a wet cold winters Tuesday Carling cup night that is around trip of 900 miles !!!!!! THAT will sort out the hardcore fans..............

Just think of all the extra costs involved as well..not just petrol or coach travel....but if a 8 o'clock Carling cup goes to extra time and pens the game will not finnish until nearly 11 0'clock ......then a 7 hour trip back to Portsmouth might mean a day off work...Happy Days

 So if Scottish teams are to play in the English league along with Welsh teams....if they got theselves into the EPL would we change the name to the Scotiish English and Welsh Premier League...and if we took those initials we would be the SEW and SEW ( so and so ) Premier League...

I am a Rangers man here in Scotland and what robi said is spot on.

 There's Welsh teams in England, I don't see why not have the Old Firm in there. They used to be brilliant teams. Celtic as the Lisbon Lions and Rangers back when many greats played for them. Many legends came out of both teams, the SPL is really holding them back from their potential.

I don't think they'll get into the Premiership, but I would welcome them, I think they'd do quite well considering the fan support they have. The only reason they can't sign the big name players they should be able to sign is because no one wants to play in a league of 2 teams.

Aye it would be nice, Scotland v England every other week but it would seem more possible if they were brought into another competition as you suggested, even a new National Cup, let all the leagues participate.

I thought this would be an ok idea but I don't know if these teams would be strong enough.

Although, they would probably start gaining more income as I would imagine premiership teams earn more with the TV rights etc and this may allow them to buy stronger players.

 A major disadvantage would be that Rangers/Celtic can gain champions league football in the scottish league but if they come to the premiership and don't finish in the top four (which they won't) they can't get in champions league.

I had another idea that maybe the top four finishers in the scottish league could be entered into our FA cup or something, we would still get competative edge between the clubs/supporters and the scottish clubs wouldn't loose their european spots....
