    Re: Your Team VS Chelsea?

Truth is we haven't got much choice. My major concern is the defence , rio and vida out. Our defence is obviously leaky. Evans is good but he needs more experience. Quite a number of goals conceeded attributable to mistakes and miscommunication among our less experience players, we need to adj that.

I can rest assure that this match is tough. Ancelloti has beaten us thru AC Milan and he knows his stuff, what more he has a better team than AC Milan, albeit an ageing one. We need a strong midfield. Is Ando ready?

Our strikeforce has kept the goals filling. But i hear news that Berba is injured and rooney hasn't shaken off his fitness problems, we could end up like liverpool. I believe its time to call our youngsters like Fabio, Tosic, Macheda, Welbeck, Evans, Obertan to rise to the occassion. Our seniors are out and the next best alternative is our youth lads. I recall that was how the Fergie fledgings came into the fray, when they were most needed.

We might as well give up now; did you see Drogba last night??? He gets stronger by the minute and is one scary opposition player.  I'm not holding my breath for a win or draw on Saturday, I got to be honest.  Anyway, here's hoping.

Away to Chelsea I would think a 4-5-1 is needed... at least for the 1st half anyway. We need to win the midfield battle, and I don't see it happening with just 2, especially if one of them in Scholes. I would also leave out Nani as he hasn't played well lately.

ST: Rooney (keep Berbatov on the bench to possibly join him up front at some point)

LW: Giggs (should be ready. It's crucial he performs in a big game like this)

    CM: Anderson

RW: Valencia (has played well lately)

DM: Carrick (need someone to hold the ball and make tackles.

DM: Fletcher   (need him to reallybe strong in the middle and make tackles. Possibly even manmark Drogb/Anelk

    LB: Evra (no questions here)

    CB: Vidic (see Evra)

CB: Evans (I don't think Rio is due to be back in time)

RB: O'Shea (his height will be helpful on corners)

    GK: Edwin

Subs:  Berbatov  Owen  Nani      Scholes     Brown    Neville    Kuzcak

This is very, very close to what I think we will play.

If it was up to me I would actually start Berbatov and not Rooney since he has been in better form as of late, but I don't think tat SAF will dare do it if Rooney is healthy. He actually did it a couple of times last year (e.g. against Inter in Milan) and it worked well.  We should have started 4-5-1 - without Rooney - against Loserpool and the result, I believe, would have been different.

Your starting line-up for the Chelski clash.

I know most guys just put up the names. Which is fine but, I prefer a reason behind it so explain what you like to see: GK: VDS.....goes without saying RB: O'Shea.....i can't believe it but, he's been pretty consistent holding down the fort. CB: Evans.....Rio coming off the mend isn't going to be game speed with Anelka/Drogba Johnny's legs can keep up. CB: Vida....The rock. Just need him to keep pace with Drogba. LB: Evra....one of the best in the world. CM: Fletcher....we are a different team with him in there and his big game play will be much needed. CAM: Anderson....we will need a guy that can get back but, also distribute. Scholes isn't the best defensively and this game we'll need it. RM: Valencia....having a great solid year on the flanks and is dangerous on and off the ball. LM: Obertan....when a guy has that speed and is a potential game changer which Chelsea HASN'T seen yet, go with it we need every point. ST: Rooney....need a big game out of the new Dad ST: Berbatov....controls the game as long as he gets service and people running.

I would think we would be more likely to succeed if we play 4-5-1.

I am not sure who the 1 should be - Rooney or Berbatov - Berbatov has been playing great lately, while Rooney is not yet in top form.

Anyway, I think it would be better to start with one striker - Berbatov (as against Inter last year in Milan) or Rooney, and then let the other striker in only if we are losing.

Also Nani should not play and Giggs and Valenca should.

BTW this is how we should also have played against Liverpool - Rooney should not have started this game if we wanted to win the midfield battle.

    Re: Your Team VS Chelsea?

I dont rekn we should play 1 up front because i havent seen us pull it off to a great extent really altho i suppose chelsea has alot of midfielders so it myte work. but i rekn a 442 formation like this.

                            VDS

    Oshea       Evans    Vidic      Evra

    Valencia     Fletcher   Carrick    Giggs

              Rooney    Berba

I would really like to see obertan play a bit tho. and mayb anderson instead of carrick. its hard to choose seeing as either of them could play good or bad.

    I'm thinking the 4-5-1.

                              VDS

             Oshea Vidic Evans  Evra

    Valencia Fletcher Ando Carrick Giggs

                          Rooney

I'm having troubles deciding between carrick and scholes.  Both have great passing abilities that have been sub par this season.  Scholes is a harder player than Carrick, but we cannot afford a red card this game.

I think we should play a 4-4-2 formation, our defenders are going to have to be on top of their game against Chelsea.

    line-up:

                              VDS

    O'Shea          Evans            Vidic            Evra

    Valencia         Fletcher        Scholes          Giggs

                    Rooney      Berbatov

    Chelsea 1 - 1 Man. United

    Re: UNITED vs CHELSEA

I don't know which team SAF will pick for this one. And, actually, I don't even care, I trust each player of united and I know they will give their 100% and more on this one.

this game is so important, I think chelsea is our only rival this year. we must get something from the bridge, at least a draw.

Expect a hard game, filled with fouls and a lot of physical contact, but an exciting one.

    predictions? 1-1

ps: obertan is a freaking magician and genius and everything!!!!!

    Re: UNITED vs CHELSEA

i also agree with u.the game may b a bit 2 fast for giggs' old legs with joe cole, kalou, anelka n drog running chelsea's attack show.but nani's end ball just demoralises, eps after doing all the hard work of gettin into a perfect crossing position.and he seems 2 b having a hate thing goinwith berba or its just me?maybe obertan or tosic for this one and we play in a 4-2-2-2 with van der sar,o'shea/brown,vidic,evans,evra;fletcher,carrick/anderson(scholes cant start in central mid here,he'd get sent off before the 30th min mainly due to drogba diving around him);valencia,nani/giggs/obertan;rooney,berba. or with 4-3-3 and play van der sar,o'shea/brown,vidic,evans,evra;anderson,fletcher,carrick/giggs;macheda,rooney,owen.subs:scholes,hargreaves,berba,da silva twins, nani, valencia.the 3 central midfielders can lock down any chelsea attack, and complement forward play.this formation will require a very fluid total football policy esp requiring rooney n giggs, the more versatile attackers,to switch btn central mid n attack with kiko n owen as the primary central forwards n wayne playing in the hole n enable alternation btn 4-4-2 n 4-3-3.
