Re: Be honest. Who believes we can win?

    vos14:

Yes but we have to be at our best. We need the defence to be solid to keep Anelka and Drogba out. Fletcher and Anderson should play in midfield because Chelsea lack energy in midfield and those two have plenty of energy. We need to be strong at set pieces because thats chelseas weakness and we could hurt them there.

Totally agree. I've been saying all week. It has to be Fletch and Ando in the middle. Those pair aren't frightened of going into the brick shi-t house that is Essien.

Who believes we can win tomorrow? And be honest.

I most certainly do. No doubt. I always feel the same, whoever we play. United can beat anyone.

Except Liverpool and Burnley ..... however the fact that you need to add the phrase "be honest" says to me that a LOT of posters on here only post what they think they should say  in order to please others.... sad...start saying what you really think and not what you think others in the forum want to hear....... I will start I THINK WE WILL LOSE ..... and and will be on here straight after the match  wn lose or draw...

I believe we can, if Vidic is in the defence that can only help. If Fletcher plays, it will only bolster our midfield. Lets hope Rooney and Berba perform eh!

Yeah. Tbh, i'm not denying Chelsea haven't been brilliant so far this season. But, they haven't really played great opposition. Liverpool were in poor form. Athletico in the relegation zone. They went to a good side in Villa and lost.

But, now they come up against us. And, we can be that great opposition to give them a real challenge.

Shannon :) good post. and i agree we have to be behind them and being underdogs can only be a good thing for us. The pressure is all on Chelsea as everyone is expecting them to tank us!

    Re: UNITED vs CHELSEA

I think Chelsea are stronger than we are. If you look at our team with an honest eye....the back four, for me O'Shea is not a full back ok he has played there forever but he does not have the attributes of  Evra, he goes forward with the balll occassionaly crosses but if you look at his game he plays the ball mostly sideways or backward. Vidic  I do not know what has happened to him but since Torres gave him the runaround last season he has not been the same,Johnny Evans is still learning his trade and makes mistakes, Evra is the best of the back four no complaints there. Midfield Valencia still not sure about him may come good.Central midfield is where we have the BIG problem,Carrick for me is tooslow, Fletcher has a good engine and is possibly our best midfield player but for me you could not compare him to Lampard or Gerrard, Anderson still has to find that final killer punch, both Scholes and Giggs are sad to say passed their best although Giggsy has put in one or two good performances.Nani has not improved since he came, and therefore I would play Obertan in this position. We need some steel in the middle and we have not got it, perhaps when Hargreaves comes back he will give us that  extra bite. The forwards no problems, perhaps they could shoot a bit more instead of trying to walk it in, but on the whole ok, but the midfield HAVE to provide a better service. I think that we will fall down in the midfield on Sunday no matter who Fergie picks, I will be happy with a draw aand I am sure Fergie would as well. I will probably get a load of stick about this post, but if the idea is to come on here with an unblikered attitude and say what you honestly believe then you should not have to put up with abuse from fellow United supporters saying you are not a true United supporter etc. I have watched United for sixty three years so I challenge you to tell me that I am not a true supporter.

Re: Soccer AM guests backing Man Utd

Frankly,it doesn't matter to me who's backing us and who isn't.

    I respect everybody's opinions.

Even those who say that we'll lose tomorrow.

There's reality and there's pessimism, and PIE MAN is way to pessimistic for his own good. Call yourself a United fan? with that comment you may as well stick a Blues shirt on and go watch eastenders!

We could LOSE, that's a reality....or we COULD win, that's also a reality! That's what football is about, but what football is also about is SUPPORTING your goddamn team!! No matter what

Re: Vidic will have to have the best game of the season so far..

No matter what tactics Fergie uses,I'm absolutely confident Vidic and Evans will keep Drogba and Anelka at bay.

Re: One way to win chealsea come and see

Some of you are so depressing. Of coarse we can go there and get a result, if the players perform to the best of their ability.

It makes me laugh that before the Liverpool game everyone was so confidant "oooh we'll beat them 4-0". Actually when I pointed out that I thought we might lose because they had something to prove, I got told to go and support Liverpool. Now we have something to prove, can you not see that? We are the underdogs, and we have always done well as underdogs.

Chelsea are massively overrated on this forum. They lost to Villa only a few weeks ago. Since then they've beat a very poor Blackburn team, Atletico, who are having a dreadful season, and a hopeless Bolten team. Yes we were horrible defensively on Tuesday, but we hadn't one first choice defender starting ffs! And Drogba isn't some superhuman force, he can be contained.

I love that everyones slagging us off in the media and predicting Chelsea to tank us. They're doing Fergies team-talk for him. Nothing will motivate the players more.

    I'd start with this team:

                    VDS
    O'Shea Evans Vidic Evra
            Fletcher Carrick
Valencia              Anderson/Park (can't decide on that one)
          Berbatov   Rooney

Owen and Giggs to come off the bench if things aren't going well.

Re: Win, lose or draw on sunday..............

I'm actually quite nervous about this game. Sad I'd be feeling a hell of a lot more confident it the game were at Old Trafford but tbh i much prefer having home games against the other big 3 later in the season when it really matters. (We have Liverpool at home and Chelsea later on which can only be an advantage come the end of the season)

What concerns me: The fact that we have'nt been typical United in the last few games. Defensively we are disappointing and we should be finishing teams off when we go ahead but we decrease the tempo of our game and let them back into it! This would be suicide against Chelsea, especially at the Bridge! It's important that on Sunday we concentrate for the full 90 mins. Chelsea will have chances, you'd be an idiot to think otherwise, especially with the form Drogba's in! (though i'd secretly love Vidic to deck the f*****). they are a physically strong team and we can't be bullied around in the midfield, which is why i think Fletcher is vital in this game, look at how he played against City!

Rooney is in good form and will hopefully wet the new-born's head on Sunday with a couple of worldies. Berbatov and him have a good thing going at the moment but we always have Owen to come on, we all know he will get into the right areas when needed and with Capello watching don't put it past him!

We need to contain Drogba and Anelka and defensively i have faith in Vidic and Evans as a partnership. Nemanja is essential in the back 4 though, as is Evra, who can link up nicely with Giggsy down the left. O'Shea's versatility is a big advantage and i'd assume SAF will play him at Right Back.

POSITIVES:  Chelsea can let goals in! just like anybody else, and i believe that the loss at Anfield will really give our boys a kick up the backside and the confidence to take the game to Chelsea. We have to. We can't lose focus, and if we go a goal up, WE MUST NOT LET THEM GET BACK INTO THE GAME because they come out in the second half like a wounded animal and they will go for it! If we can contain Drogba and Lampard and keep them two quiet, we've got a great chance. But it will be tough.

Personally i would take a draw, yes. Because of chelsea's home record and all things added up they are obviously our main title challengers this year, and while i don't think this is at all a make-or-break title clinching game (as some cockney dickwad's suggest) 5 points will give them a huge psychological boost over us. We don't want Chelsea to come to us on April 3 with an agenda to clinch the leagu there and then.

That being said, i am confident we will play the best we have all season because quite simply, we have to!

Predictions: I honsetly think the game could be a 2-2 draw, which i would be delighted with personally. But i'm going to stick my neck out and say....i think we'll just sneak it by one goal. 3-2

    Scorers: Rooney (2) Giggs (1)

                  Drogba (1) Lampard (1)

SIDE NOTE (TO TRAVELLING FANS): For those fans travelling to the Bridge, lets get right behind the lads tomorrow!!! Get the volume up and put their fans to shame, because it makes one hell of a difference and gives the team confidence to play our way!

    COME ON UNITED!!!!!!

Hot Girls Love Me - I love them 2:

We just need a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig kick up the ass!

I thought we already got that at Anfield !Stick out tongue

I'm pretty sure Fergie will have used the Liverpool game to fire up the lads for this one.We can't afford to drop more points nor can we afford to go 5 points behind Chelsea either.

We need to win not only to get 3 valuable points but also to get some sort of psychological edge over Chelsea aswell.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fergie played this team tomorrow.

This is,I think arguably our strongest team that we can possibly put out.
