Valencia is a right winger by nature but has been moving in as a third striker a bonus.  He has more accurate crosses than any of the wingers at the moment and is to be feared a striker as well.  He is not selfish and gives the ball to anyone that may have a better chance at scoring for the TEAM and he also takes his chances and cashes in on them.  I believe anyone would have had a hard time adjusting to that position but let's remember, futbol is not as it was, players are multifuncional and if they work, like Valencia, in those spots that they play well we should encourange them to keep getting better.  I for one love Valencia's speed and accuracy.  I've seen him grow and become more confident, he is undoubtedly the best player the team has signed this past year.

rooney is a great finisher no doubt abt that.. but the team has changed play becuase earlier it all used to revolve around ronny and rightly so.. 

berba is great at those cheeky assists but  there is no1 to finish it.. we need a goal scorer infront with rooney..

 valencia has settled in very well and quickly.. 

his pacy run ins on the wing has been great... he has the pace.. he defends well, runs back when he needs to nd wins the ball. 

the bad part is he ONLY plays wih his right foot and is predictable most times.. the thing abput ronaldo was -

Valencia is doing well - settled in quickly and scoring too which is a bonus - wingers are not only there to put in crosses but to stretch the defence too which is what he is doing 

 

 I have a question that i would like answered about Antonio Valencia. Manchester United is a great TEAM, and we are a great team because we are not afraid to constructively speak about our weaknesses and we do so not because we want to destroy the confidence and effort of the players but it is because that is the way we have improved- you play well you are rewarded, you don't and you are asked to work hard until you are good enough. Antonio Valencia i must admit is one of the most difficult to comment about because in my opinion he is such a paradoxical figure- no matter what a player does, once he scores then we are all 'encouraged' to mederate our critique- because we are winning. He brings enomous strength and potential into the team on one hand and on the other he distracts the team. My question is this

1. What is Valencia's role in the team? We are a team and everyone has an assigned role to play- a striker, midfielder, winger, defender, etc. My question is what is valencia's role in the team? Is he a third striker? he had 0% crosses going righ in our last game and in the previous, match 1 cross. Is he a goal poacher? and once he gets in the way of the strikers or adds to the numbers in the 18, where  would the space to shoot come from?

I will repeat again that Antonio Valencia must play his premier role well first before he adds additional responsibility. Valencia must run the ball down the right and give intelligent crosses. He now gives not give crosses, instead he cuts the ball down the back of the strikers making it impossible for outside the 18 shots on goals or long curly shots since the players are forced to pass the ball Arsenal-styl in the 18 yard box. Valencia is on his way to becoming one of our greatest players but i think we will need to help him get there. otherwise if he's got such great scoring potential, let him play in the middle of attack and let us get a new winger on the right. Why do we get pissed off when Obertan or Cristiano Ronaldo( when he was with us) over elaborate on the ball at the right or left? it is because the forwards are waing for a  ......?  You goit it right for a CROSS
