Agreed mate! Granted Ronaldo was great for United, but as Evra said the most important person in the Team(United) is United!

 Considering all the injuries in defence our defence has done very well, anyone who knows what they're talking about would admit to that.

Injuries mate, injuries! You cant do much with 3-5-2 formation with Carrick and Fletcher in the last 3.  Pray we dont have more serious injuries at the back for the remainder of the season!

And to "Stefanunited", we have let in 20 goals this season, so have Chelsea and their defence has been really strong for the whole season, just goes to show how good our depth is. Imagine Chelsea without Terry and

the whole leagues been great weve lost so many look at liverpool chelsea and arsenal, city villa totts and generally the teams outside top 4 have been significatly better and weve had vidic and ferdinand out for a large proportion of the season

Manchester United have scored 18 more goals than this stage last season!!!!! Surely you have to give it to Fergie and to the  lads  for heeding the advice "to step up on the plate" Where are the prophets of doom?

Watch you will get labled as a "results are all that matters fan" if you keep talking like that, lol.     But yeah it is nice to see the team producing positive results and keeping itself in the title race and bagging a bunch of goals while doing it.

Thanks for the advice RedYankee! You are a veteran of this forum and I can understand what you mean! But I was excited by this statistic and the implication  on collective responsibilty and Team work by Machester United Team! Granted, we have not won anything yet, but the prognosis looks good! I hope you are not missing CR7, he is your avatar lol, I should know better!

 

 

This is even more impressive having in mind that last season we also had CR7 and Tevez and most often played with 2 or even 3 forwards.  

One reason I can think of is that I read some statistics that CR7 alone took more than half of United shots-at-goal last season - he was quite selfish.

Rooney, Berbatov, Valencia, even Nani and Giggs are much less selfish and therefore the whole team scores more.  

Rooney, Valencia, Berbatov all have great goal scoring/game ratios (Rooney is 20 goals in 23 starts, Berbatov is 8 goals in 14 starts, Valencia is 5 goals in 18 starts).  When the players are not selfish everyone scores more.

If we had the same great defense as last season - we would be running with the title.  Last season we had 11 clean sheets in a row about this time of the year.  We obviously have the best offense in the PL this season - lets hope the defense recovers from all the injuries and begins playing as well as last season.  

 

I can really, like Fletch says uniteds a much more rounded team after the departures.  But it is very impressive, eighteen more- isn't just 2/3 is it!  There was a-lot of sacrifice made by individuals for Cristiano.  Key players have raised their games to high levels since.  United continue to play as a team, defend as a team and have the best chemistry on the pitch.  Uniteds been written off and was expected to be finishing out of the top four, the lads have prooved the pundits wrong.  Lot's of work still to do but you cannot buy team spirit and in that we will always be richest. 

Wayne Rooney has always been incredible but this season he has been phenomenal.  To be able successfully to lead the line, to become a player who now excels within the box when it was regarded he wasn't a natural goal scorer- it really does say a-lot for the 24 yearold.  He is the most complete striker in the world, he just does everything for the team, clever, passionate and whenever he gets the ball does something with it.  He's a joy to watch and so are his teammates.

Plus I think we also have the team who have had the most individual goal scorers

To all those people that said we'd never replace ronaldo and tevez' goals, said wed have no chance to win anything this season, I hope your all enjoying your humble pie... put that in your pipe and smoke it  

So true Michael...and, we managed to do so even after being plagued by so many injuries. It's quite astonishing, but then again with SAF at the helm, we will always be in good hands. Oh, and once again I have to say "Thank God for Wayne Rooney!!!"   

Exactly. I think these slaters and whiners just miss Ronaldo's flair and style, and they still cannot let go that the best player in the world has gone to Real Madrid. If Rooney ever becomes the best player in the world, then we would have less prophets of doom since we have the best player in our team, hence less criticism.

Also, they believe that we should win everytime and that we should always dominate teams, when in reality, this is not possible at all. Again, if Ronaldo was around, there would be less of this crud.
