I think he can break the 40 mark, optimistic but in current form anything is possible. Rememer Ronaldo only had 3 more goals at this point in the season when he got 42. Its possible to break it but it will be an extraordinary season for him and I think for him to get that, he will have to get to the Champions league final, and we will only get to the Champions League Final if Rooney is in form anyway so he will have to be picking goals up along the way or United wont be getting to the final. Hope we do like.

Well hes knocked in 25 so far and we still have 12 games in the league, the carling cup final, hopefully 6 more champons league games so with 19 games left all in all, its possible that he cold break Ronldos record.

 i think he meant to ask all competetions together aggregate of all goals scsored like rooney has 25 i guess drog has 23 dont know about messi etc total goals
