I have been a life long United supporter with one big big problem.

My family has lived in the states my whole life.

I am finally going to a match to see United in action for real this year. I am going to the home and away pompey and villa games.

I signed up to be apart of the United USA Supporters club and they take trips each year.

I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on pubs, clubs, etc. Or if you wanted to meet up and hang out with me and my friends who are coming to see the match from over here.

my cousin bought fifa 10 2 days ago and we are playing it all the time and obviusly i play only with man utd but him changes team every game and to be honest they are pretty good,better than i expected them to be, here are some important points about us in the game:

valencia is a fantastic player along with carrick,evra,vidic,evans,scholes,rafael,ferdinand and owen and berbatov

on the downside rooney anderson fletcher nani should have been far better cause they are average :/

But overall man utd are in the same level as barcelona and all other top teams in this games altough real madrid are at another level and probably you know why...there is a certain portuguese player which has everything neraly perfect and is very hard to contain :/

hi uncle audouc auntie supermum and everyone else who has been leaving nice message i would just like to let you all know that after 30 long hours of hard labour sarah gave birth to our beautiful daughter this morning at 9-28am 07/07/09

AMELIA RACHEL PROSSER came kicking and screaming at 8lb 13oz in weight

sarah is doing ok but in a lot of pain as she suffered a bit the poor *** i felt so sorry for he she has had to have a lot of stitches because her uterus tore because the afterbirth caused a lot of problems and she lost a lot of blood but she is doing ok now and hopefully will be home by thursday morning i think sarah is amazing she done so well th induction didnt work so she done it all herself in the end i am so proud of her

plus watching the birth of my baby daughter is the most amazing thing i have ever seen i wont ever see anything like it

I thought I would create this post too help all newcomers. More often than not, they write a post and then they are lambasted by the older members on here for certain reasons they cant understand.

I always advice new members too read the posts below created intelligently by some of the older members.

3. Info you should all know before posting on this forum by Rj28 in LATEST NEWS

A. POST CHASING. People who are only interested to see how many threads they can accumalate in a short space of time. Example, join around August and accumalate over a 1000 threads.

B. DOUBLE POSTING. People create a post about a topic, other people decide too create there post on the same subject. Remedy, if you have an idea for a post CHECK FIRST it has not been mentioned. If so, reply to that person with your views.

C. ONE LINERS. People who create a post or reply too a post with about 3 to 4 words. Remedy. Write a decent thread or post and you will get replys.

D. WRONG SECTION ENTRIES. To many people create or answer a thread and place it in the wrong section. Check all FORUMS first then you will realise what section it belongs too.

E. STICKY. This means that the WEBMASTER has decided that the POST in question should be at the top of the list in the respective FORUMS, thus you dont have to BUMP too keep it in eyes view.

F. E-MAIL and PHONE NUMBERS. Do not give out personal details on this website. WEBMASTER/MOD will only delete them for your own safety.

VERY IMPORTANT TOO NEWCOMERS. When you LOG IN too this web site, make sure you LOG OUT. If you dont then your account is OPEN too HACKERS.

I have more than likely missed a few things out too guide you along but I am sure more of our old members will mention what I have missed. Today has been a nightmare looking at the FORUMS. Double posts, wrong section posting ect.

Just 1 week after the shock death Of Robert Enke, Mexican International and Greek club Larissa striker Antonio Di Nigris has died. The cause is yet unknown but it is suspected to be due to heart failure. He leaves behind a wife and a 5 year old daughter.

RIP ..

Another football player found dead. Second in a week. This is just reality it could be anyone next, including (GOD FORBID) our players.

Maybe someone on here can give me a bit of advice.

I post quite a bit on this forum, not as much as some but enough and I have an iPod Touch. Now just for handiness I use the iPod Touch to browse the forum sometimes. This is where I ran into some problems. Firstly some posts don’t show up correctly. This is a compatibility issue. But I also found navigating around quite annoying. I have used other forums which have a mobile site which I really don’t like. So what I started to do was develop an iPod Touch / iPhone app for browsing the forums.

I emailed the united staff about this, legal issues, if its ok to scrape the site as there are no ads on the forum section anyways and I wouldn’t be claiming the data as my own. I've heard that people have gotten permission from some sites for similar apps and its not as if United pay for the information provided on here, i.e. our opinions. I got no reply so I started anyways just so that I could have something to do! I mailed them again today and got the same response saying that it was being forwarded onto the technical guys. I asked about using the site and maybe a more useful way of extracting data. I am pretty far on at this stage and have it working quite well so far.

It’s basically something that I would use (and do at the minute) for browsing the forums that suits the iPod Touch / iPhone. I am pretty pleased with it so far but it will be a huge kick in the teeth if I eventually get an email saying that they will not allow me to do this. I thought they might at the start but I didn’t want to wait around. If they had emailed me in the beginning saying no I would have been annoyed but at least I wouldn’t have started it.

Anyways, do some of the website guys come into this section? If so could you get back to me via PM or something?

I'm certain that there are a lot of girls/women supporting ManUtd because it's a great team, but we also notice that some of them are VERY handsome. Why don't we discuss that for a change? For me: Berbatov's eyes...magic. Evra is handsome, too. Owen Hargreaves with his curly hair...The newcomer Ljajic looks cute and I can't help but love Rooney:) These are my favorites, with Berbatov ON TOP. In the thread strangest things seen at a football match COSTA OPOSTOLOU posts about a match in Brazil where a keeper goes to retrieve a ball but it is picked up by a ball boy who comes on the pitch with the ball to give to the keeper and he just casually taps it in to the net...........the ref gives the goal.

It is so strange that I thought it worthy of a separate post for you all to see.......... acknowledgement to the poster Costa opostolou.

Okay so for History, were doing a decade study on the 80`s and we were each given a meaningful songs which we then have to analyze the lyrics and write a stupid essay about it, then ontop of that do a 6 page indepth study on the event the song is about.

Lucky me, I got my fave band U2, and I was given their song Sunday Bloody Sunday. Now Iv done some sort of research and I already have background being a U2 fanatic. The lyrics are intense and so powerful. And I know they were about the Bloody Sunday in Derry were British troops killed innocent civial rights marchers.

Is their any Northern Irish people on this forum or any Irish in particular who knows about this matter and can give me a primary source which I can use, I will definatly acknowlade you in the reference column. I just need to know why the outbreak occured, and I really don't get the whole Northern & Republik of Ireland issue and I would LOVE to know and this will help me very very much. This assignment is a major work, and it's like 50% of my grade.

American’s can’t love Football? Much Less United...Right?

I am always astounded when surfing the Talking Red’s forum when others can’t believe that I love football, simply because I am an American. For some reason the general consensus of us American’s are that we are fat, gun toting, George Bush Cronies who could never love a sport that we aren’t any good at. I hate to burst some xenophobic bubbles out there, but soccer is starting to surge in the United States and I for one am thrilled that it has. Yes I said soccer; don’t hang me up just yet.

Football is far and away my favorite sport and the more that I submerge myself into it; the more it seems to take over my life. In fact besides my wonderful family, I can’t think of anything that I love more. I appreciate American sports. The NFL is a terrific game that combines collisions, skill, and is truly a battle of wits. Basketball seems to ignite passion in other cultures and can be exciting when played the right way. I happen to love Ice Hockey for its speed and passion. Baseball can be interesting because of its deep history. Yet all of these sports pale in comparison to the beautiful game. What other spectacle involves so many players from all over the world, working in cohesion just to see a leather orb burst into a mesh net? What other sport provokes men to sing silly songs and hug one another while rooting for men in the same colored shirts? What other sport provides speed, sensibility, insensibility, theatrics, skill, and tactics in the way the football does?

When I was first exposed to football, I must admit I did not fall in love. Yet I was very intrigued. Why do all these people go nuts to see a game finish 0-0? Can I really follow a sport in which my local team could never be considered world class or the best? MLS is a decent lunch pail league yet not one of these boys could play for a great international squad. If I was to learn this game whom do you even support. These are questions that harm the game in the States. For me time would settle all of these questions.

Football first started to place itself on my radar in the form of a video game. I know that many of you will think that I am a Cretan for bowing to the idiot box. Yet, I was a teenage boy in need of entertainment. A mate of mine told me that the new Fifa game was actually pretty fun. I told him I would try it out and he would pound the stuffing out of me with Roberto Baggio and the Italian squad. Oh how I hated that guy. It seemed a bit unfair that he would always choose the Italian squad and I would be the USA. It was like trying to win a war with a rubber band while my opponent had a Panzer tank. So I suggested that we pick Club Squads. He would choose Bayern because he was German. I then decided to choose Manchester United. Sounded like a cool team. I always liked Manchester, it seemed like all of my favorite bands were from Manchester. Joy Division, The Smiths, Morrissey, the Stone Roses, and Oasis. Well wouldn’t you know it, I finally won. I think it was 2-1. Regardless, the result wasn’t important, I just liked the announcer sounding off, “Van Nistelrooy…He scores”.

I have always been a huge music fan. I love concerts and I especially love British bands. Unfortunately I let my country down when it comes to my musical tastes. As a gun toting, Bush loving, fat Cretan, I should value my musical roots. I just don’t though. I am an all or nothing guy and when I submerge myself into something, I go all out. I want to know where and how this “thing” came about. As I started to read about many of my favorite musical artists, I started to see a common thread. They all seemed to love, besides Oasis of course, Manchester United. In fact, did you know that Morrissey’s birth certificate actually says that he was born in Old Trafford? Apparently his father loved United more than he loved little Stephen. No wonder the man is so depressed. As a teenage boy, you love your idols and Morrissey being one of mine made me think that I going to give this United thing a shot. So I started to read. I wanted to find out why this club seemed to be calling my name.

Over the coming years I started to seek out football in any way I could get it. At this time in the U.S. the only regularly televised matches were all World Cup centric. While the football was great, it just wasn’t on the television enough to give you a thorough knowledge of the sport. I started to recognize some names and began to pick my favorite players. The tiny red head in the center of the England midfield was intriguing. I was convinced he could hit a beer can with a pass from 60 yards out. Hum, He is a United player. That Beckham guy is a bit fiery, I can relate to that bloke and what do you know, United player. So, United was certainly going to be my squad. Sometimes you don’t pick a team, it picks you and once it does, you cannot change your allegiance.

If I was going to go “all out” on the football thing I need to be able to see these league games. I am not the casual fan type who can watch 10 games a season and feel content. So I started searching the internet to find where I could see these games regularly. Some of my American fans will remember inventions like the ITVN box. I had that awful invention set up in my basement and would watch every game, frame by frame trying to watch a United match in less than 2 hours. The picture would freeze, the commentary would sputter and I loved every second of it. I was indoctrinated. My buddies were ready to have an intervention because they were convinced that I joined a religious cult, one devoted to the Devil, the red devil. In point of fact, they were right.
