Good evening all. Friday night at last. Dizza, there was a good race course in Caulfied. I went there a couple of times with my brother-in-law. I dont know if it is still there or not and I cant remember if it is up the Broadmeadows railway line. I am sure it is because I lived in Broady. I know to get too Sydney, I am sure that was the Dandenong Line?. So many years ago, I might be wrong.

Caulfield Racecourse is still there, and they still have the Caulfield Cup as a major part of the Spring Carnival. not on the same train line as Broady though, Broady is a Northern suburb, and Caulfield is an inner South Eastern suburb. Dandy is out further East, so they are on the same train line - the Pakenham (Metro) or Traralgon or Bairnsdale (Country train) line, which is also the one i travel on to get to the City. if they still have trains going to Sydney, it would either be the Albury line through Seymour, Shepparton etc., or the Bairnsdale line, going up the east coast. not sure which though.

Re: TOO ALL NEWCOMERS

 Good evening all.
Hmm, Gippsland...I hear that Monash University has a medical campus there. Its good to share with you Aussie mates about our glorious United team. Not suprising, after all Melbourne is a beautiful city with all year round sun. Ok not as sunny as Gold Coast but does fine for me. Haha maybe late next year I would stop by and pay a visit to the Ballarat mines and try my hand on panning gold....perhaps i may get lucky...LOL.

Sorry mate, Aussie rules never quite caught on for me.

lol, i tried panning for gold at Ballarat once on Grade 5 camp... i wasn't very lucky! i might have come home with a small piece or two worth a combined total of about 5 cents! good fun though, and a lot of history there in regards to the Eureka Stockade etc.

i've been to the Monash Uni in Gipppsland... it's about 45 minutes from where i am. i'm thinking of going to Caulfield because it's on the same train line, or Berwick.

as for the all year round sun... i'd have to disagree there! today is hot, overcast, windy and it looks like a change is coming through. lol. have a good one buddy.

Re: TOO ALL NEWCOMERS

Wallyballs2008V2:

fair few of us on here with Melbourne connections. me, troy from aus (if he still posts here), vishnu chari, kiltz304 and robbo091 (the last 2 are both school mates) are currently living in Melbourne, and you and audouc used to live there... small world!

Anouther wet and windy day out there. Ballarat. That brings back memories, I use to work there. We had a house in Daylesford, Hepburn Springs just outside Ballarat. I use to take my dogs for a walk in the bush and there were some old mine shafts there. Quiet eerie really. You had to be careful where you were walking as some of them were not visible with the n a k e d eye. They were preety deep. I use to get a stone and throw one down and listen to the noise when it landed. A 3-4 second noise then I knew not to venture down. The earth around it after exposure over the years was not safe.

Re: TOO ALL NEWCOMERS

Good morning everyone,

evening all. it's been a very hot day here in Melbourne! i'm still feeling disgusted about Henry's handball... i sense match fixing of sorts...

Good evening all. Hope you are keeping well dono2. Dizza, I dont think you are the only one that is disgusted with Henry. I just hope they get nowhere in the finals. Watched it again on the ITV news tonight, and he did touch it twice. The French are now trying to play the whole thing down. Now if that was Ireland and they scored the winner by a deliberate handball, I would not mind betting FIFA would hold an enquiry about getting the match replayed. In other words, because Ireland were the minnows of football, they would want a team like France playing in the finals too add glamour to there precious tournament. It stinks.

indeed it does. i would love to see Australia or New Zealand shatter them at the World Cup.

Re: TOO ALL NEWCOMERS

That handball was shocking they say he could of told the ref that he handballed it but he isnt honest enough and only admitted it after the game.

evening all. it's been a very hot day here in Melbourne! i'm still feeling disgusted about Henry's handball... i sense match fixing of sorts...
