The thing is that with Nani, who is just 23, there is a whole lot of time on his hands to really fulfill his true potential, the kind of potential and attacking potency he shows for Portugal.

With Berba, however, who is 28, how much time does he have to improve?

It is said that a striker usually matures or fully develops by about that age and yet, Berba can only bang in the goals for Bulgaria and not for United!

It's frustrating!

Fergie paid that huge fee for him so that he could deliver immediately and yet, a lot of us are still waiting.

The honest truth is- Nani, despite his turmoil, still has the world at his feet, but Berba's world is soon to end.

If Berba was younger, like about Nani's age, then I would have honestly been saying to give him time, but Berbatov is a well-travelled, experienced striker who has been amongst the top scorers everywhere he's been!

He was always a 20 goal a season striker, even at Tottenham, where he netted 23 goals in all comps. in each of his two seasons there.

At United, he hasn't reached 20 goals in all comps. after nearly a year and a half!

Surely, it's understandable that people would be frustrated with him, because we all know that he knows better and that he has proven over the years that he is capable of much better.

Nani, on the other hand, doesn't know better and is still learning and will gain his experience here at OT, but he needs the games, the confidence and support to do so.

Those things come over time and out of those two players, it's Nani who has the time.

That's why I will always support Nani and that's why I've lost patience with a player that I've always thought we shouldn't have bought in the first place.

I always knew that he wouldn't have suited United, despite his obvious, silky and classy talent.

His purpose was best served at Tottenham with Robbie Keane.

They had a magnificent and prolific partnership where they put up 40 of Tottenham's goals per season!

That's the honest truth.

who is the best striker that has partnered Rooney?????

we have seen through out the last 5 years lots of players coming in and going out in our front line..... but who you really think had formed the best partnership with Rooney, and brought out the best of out of our super talented palyer ROONEY...

for me i have to say it was RVN, the way RVN playes at his days in OT suited Rooney and gave him the chance to play in his best position with a good link up play with another world class striker... his goals in his first seasn where just brilliant,,,, i hope to c few more of goals this season like his goal against Newcastle... this was a brilliant goal...

who do you think has been the best striker to partner Rooney, and who you think would do so again, will he be Owen, Berba, Macheda.... or sombody yet to be introduced in a United shirt?????

Now that my prediction that United would sign one of the best finishers of the game,(dec 2008) he has proved that against the City this year.England should take him and use him like we do.........he can change a game just like OLE GUNNER has done for years, brilliant piece of business from Sir Alex.

i agree with ye that we need more firepower but i think its just certain signings in midfield that need to be made and bring back cleverley.with ljajic coming in jan and the signing of hazard or silva that is what we are lacking.we dont need villa,suarez etc because i think macheda,welbeck,joshua king should be given more chances.i can see big things from these players especially macheda and joshua king.king has the pace of torres and is very strong and a great finisher and only 17!macheda is a great finisher with skill and good ball control and like king has a good work rate.he has pace but nowhere near as fast as king but good all the same.i think these players should get their chance in the remaining champions league group game to give them the chance and also the experience.what do you guys think?

He hasnt really been playing lately for club so as soon as he gets to play for Porugal he gets 2 assists so he should be given a chance

Michael Owen - Why was he given the No.7 ????

I still can't get my head around United's decision to give Owen the famous No.7. He hardly plays, always sitting on the bench and is not as good as he once was. I know that we are only 12 games into the EPL season, but as far as i can tell, Owen is only used in Cup tournaments. Was the decision to give him the No.7 a good one ???, was it to annoy the Liverpool fans ????. Eric Cantona - No.7 = Legend. David Beckham - No.7 = Legend. Cristiano Ronaldo - No.7 = Legend. Michael Owen - No.7 = ????? he will not be a legend here.

Should Owen be given another number ??? my answer = YES.

Carlos Tevez - Would you have him back if he wanted to come back to Man Utd ????

Carlos Tevez is going through a hard time at Man City, and is considering retirement, in my opinion i think he wants to come back to Man Utd but not until Fergie leaves. So if Tevez said he wanted to come back and play for United, would you want him ??? i mean he was a good player for us a linked up very well with Rooney and is still only 25. BUT the comments made by him against Sir Alex and about United was disgracful.

Would i welcome Tevez back here = NO, simply because he said terrible things when he left and i can't stand him now even though he would help us out alot upfront.

There has been a lot of people on here saying we need to sign a winger but we dnt really need one..Obertan is coming up great, Valencia is a new signing who has had some good games..Park has been good for us..Nani is talented though inconsistent but he can turn good..Tosic has not been given much chance but he can still have a bright future with us..if Silva is signed i dont really think he can play in the premiership..we need to stick with out players and support them

I think Nani hasn't been properly nurtured at United ever since Carlos Quieroz left us. I really cant see Mike Phelan teaching Nani how to develop his talent as it should have been. Sure people can slate him for his poor performances last season and this season, but SAF nor Mike Phelan has done anything to help build his already shattered confidence. He can be picked for the united as much as possible but he needs support in the same manner Ronaldo got, espeically since he got Rooney sent off in Germany in 2006 and vowed not to return to us. He is only 21, I feel he has no support from his fellow players nor the management. I remember when he first joined along with Anderson and his confidence was high and he scored a few brilliant goals and set up loads in his first season. Then when Carlos Quieroz leaves Fergie resorts back to using his old favourites and Nans chances became really limited. This season he was quality against Chelsea in the Community Shield, unitil he got injured he tortured their defence and scored a rocket. Then SAF limited is starts and when he began having bad games i.e Stoke, Blackburn, CSKA Moscow, nobody has came out and defended him which is what he has badly needed. Everyone in life needs assurances especially young talent like Nani, its time SAF showed his trust in him and play him in the big games, which he hasnt done this season.
