It's hard to predict the line up for the next campaign, however, I do expect a couple of signing, regardless of who leaves/retires

- one cm: Martinez is probably out of reach. But Strootman fits the bill imo, and he is much more realistic than a lot of suggestion we have seen over here or in the media

- one attacking minded player, who is however versatile so as to cover/be first choice at cam, on both wings and also able to track back and help out defensively: Hazard is obviously a target, or SAF wouldn't bother attending Lille's games. But I am not sure how realistic he would be considering his price tag. In fact, if we're ready to spend 30M, I'd rather go for the cheaper Kagawa (15M) who is imo terribly underrated. I personally think he could be transformed into a really top player. And that would moreover benefit us financially as it would open up the Japanese market. If we can get one of those two, I think we will be even more lively upfront next season and the years to come, but Hazard does seem like a possibility with SAF attending some of his games, which doesn't happen that often.

The line up will then depend on form, injuries, big games/Europe, but everyone would no doubt get his share of games. However, I would predict that our most consistant line up would be:

I put Hazard instead of Nani and Young, because Hazard's injury record is absolutely fantastic, remember this is what I think will be the most consistent team injury wise. For the same reaosn, I didn't include Cleverley, but there is no doubt for me that he would be first choice if he could remain injury free.

I think we will sign: Nathaniel Clyne (compensation of around 2m), James Rodriguez (17m), Possibly Jack Butland (3m), relatively cheap midfielder (Strootman, Michu - 8-15m)

I think we will get rid of: Kuszczach (1-2m), Park (7-13m), De Laet (870k-1m), A few younger players contracts may expire, Berbatov (9-15m) (don't think he will be gone by the 1st game of the season), Bebe (Loan), Tunnicliffe (Loan), Will Keane (Loan), Petrucci (January Loan), Pogba (January Loan)

At the start of the season I think this will be our squad:

De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Rafael, Fabio, Evra, Ferdinand, Evans, Vidic (just back), Smalling, Jones, Clyne, Fryers, Scholes, Giggs, Cleverley, Anderson, Carrick, Pogba, Petrucci, Strootman/Michu/Other, Valencia, Young, Nani, Rodriguez, Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez, Macheda, Owen, Berbatov (won't be used)

My prediction for the lineup in the first game of the season without injuries (which is pretty pointless cause we know there will be) is this:

De Gea

Rafael, Evans, Ferdinand, Fabio

Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Nani

Rooney, Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Jones, Scholes, Anderson, Young, Rodriguez, Hernandez

I think if these transfers do come through...

Clyne will be a good squad player, covering either rb or lb, he has potential and in the future will have a bigger role in the team.

Rodriguez will be used in rotation with Nani and Valencia being the 1st choice pairing, Rodriguez and Young will both get many games, with his signing I see Park leaving the club, the small amount of time he has enjoyed since the turn of the year could indicate this, if Park does in fact leave I would like to thank him for the service he has provided over the years, he has been a great player for Utd.

If Michu or Strootman or another player of their ability signs for us in the centre they will likely only be used as backup to Scholes, Carrick, Cleverley and Anderson with Giggs and hopefully Pogba ahead of them as well, their importance will be greater when Scholes and Giggs retire in the next few years. Hopefully Petrucci will get a decent run in the Carling Cup also possibly leading to a good loan move in January.

I think if we make those signing they will help but other than Rodriguez don't expect any rediculously good players such as Muniain, Hazard or Martinez to join, there may be a slight possibilty with Martinez but personally I think it's unlikely. Eriksen would have been an exciting signing but he clearly wants to continue his development at Ajax but I could see him being signed the season after or maybe even in the January transfer window however I think the following summer is more likely.

Rodriguez has stated that he would join Utd if given the chance, many Utd scouts have been to Porto's games since so this seems to indicate we are interested. He is a fantastic young talent, great dribbler, fast, skillful, good crosser and goalscorer, he is rather weak though so the EPL may prove difficult for him early on, in Europe he would likely be much more valuable.

Clyne would simply be backup for the full back slots, he has great potential though so in the future he could break in to the team.

It is unlikely we will sign a first team midfielder so I see us getting a backup instead to improve our squad for when Scholes and Giggs retire. As mentioned above we may sign Eriksen for the first team next season.

EJ how is Sneijder still realistic?

Realistic would possibly be Scholes and Giggs maybe retired. Kus, De Laet, Berba, Park, Owen gone

a midfielder brought in (I would love Martinez,) but I think someone like Strootman is more realistic. A player who can fit the Rooney role and also on the wings if needed. and then next summer with Owen gone then and Berba gone this summer, a striker could come in.

Realistic?? My God, only a few of your are even close. Rafael, Ferdi, Vidic and Evra WILL be our first choice back four providing they are all fit. Martinez or a player like him MAY be bought, NOT an attacking midfielder eg, Sneijder, Eriksen . Hazard will almost certainly NOT be bought, we already have Valencia, Nani and Young, so who is it that won't be playing/getting sold? And finally Rooney is NOT a lone striker and the only times I can see him playing there is during a few champions league games.

I still think there will be two midfielders required while Cleverley and Anderson are so unreliable with injuries.
