Yes, of course we do. We NEED a ball winning dm. Notice how many top teams have one, city have De Jong, Barry and you could say Toure. Chelsea have Mikel and Ramires despite not being a dm wins the ball, Arsenal have Song, you get the picture. Although some of these aren't that good it still proves teams have them, except us. Carrickwhether you like it or not is not a mid who breaks up play.

Because of this we need to act. Javi Martinez is the best option but the likes of M'Vila and Strootman are also talented. Too often this season, especially against Bilbao, not only could we string 2 passes together but we couldn't get possession back either, highlighting the need for a dm surely?

Not as essential but nonetheless a thing we could do with is an am too. There is an abundance of talent in this department and some have even expressed a desire to join us. Kagawa seems to be the most likely option atm and frankly that's great. He's been Dortmund's most influential player this season and for the transfer fees that've been going around he'd be a real coup. Dk the reliability of this jap radio station interview but if it's true then excellent. We should snap him up ASAP as any big club would dream of gaining his signature.

A left back would be nice as well but the conclusion is yes, we do need signings, and it seems as if SAF has acknowledged this.

Are you a Doctor? Every disease affects everyone differently. It will all come down to the Doctors Fletcher and how his recuperation goes? As of the latest reports why shouldn´t we be optimistic? They´re coming up with new cures and treatments all of the time.

I agree, there is some value for money out there to moreover fill the positions that need reinforcement:

RB: Clyne for 3-5M max

LB: Baines for a reported 10M max? (although I doubt it somehow, unless it was part of a deal with Gibbo who we sold at a very cut price imo)

CAM/WINGER/SS: Kagawa for 15M max

CM/DM: Strootman: for something around 18M imo

Compare them with their "expensive alternatives" (reportedly so at least): Hazard: 30M; Martinez: 30+M; and no quality full back will come cheaper than the aforementioned ones.

I personally think such a team would be mouth-watering and a lot stronger than the one we had this season:

What about Phil Jones?

I think provided we had that many healthy CMs, Ryan Giggs would be moved back to the wing.

I still feel it is too early to give up on Anderson.

As for Baines I rate him on a par with Evra. They´re around the same age and have both had good periods and bad periods this year.

I agree with you that we should make a couple of purchases. Wait and see what SAF decides.

Agree with everything you have put, spot on. Would also love to see eriksen here but it may be along shot.

Think Kagawa would be more suited rather than Eriksen because he can play through the wings aswell and just looks a no brainer really :P There are alot of decent CM available, we will see.

Guys the Kagawa thing was b.s rumour started from Twitter and articles have even been wrote about how funny it is that people just used the quote from Twitter - the guy only had 4 tweets all about it - none before or after - bit suspect..

We do need to buy though and if we get rid of any big names we need to replace them too. We can't just replace those who go and not add on top of that if we want to compete better all round next season but I bet that's the case. If I'm proven wrong I'll gladly hold my hands up!

i see where you're coming from mate but i dont think vidic and fletch will make a world of difference, vidic will probably get straight back into the first team as soon as he's fit but fletchers more of a squad player and tom cleverly is still very young. i think we do need to buy, hazard would be great but city will snatch him as soon as the window opens just to get one over on us, no point goin for modric he'll cost 40m and has only scored 4 league goals this season, so not sure who utd should buy but definetly do need to buy.

i'd love if united tried to sign van persie, these days a player can go where they want especially in the last year of their contract..if arsenal are willing to sell to city why not to united.
